Better dancers and dances than a previous visit; low-key but entertaining
Red Garter is the most convenient club if you're in downtown Indianapolis. It's easily walkable from the hotels, the convention center, and the various stadiums. There's one stretch under the old railroad that feels a little sketchy, but it's well lit and travelled, and doesn't seem to be a problem. They also have a parking lot, which I think is free.
Cover on a Wednesday evening about 11:00pm was $10. The guy at the counter had me lift my shirt and spin, but didn't come out to do an actual pat down. Inside the club is fairly nice with a high ceiling and decent furniture. There are very small bars at either end, then a big room with three round stages and seating. The seats, big wing-back upholstered chairs, are arranged a bit oddly in side-by-side rows. The seats at the stages are more normal, and give a better view. It's possible to find chairs with decent views or multiple stages.
The stage performances were ok. A couple of dancers were entertaining, with dancing, some pole work, and a bit of stage-side interaction. A few were uninteresting.
