First trip to the St. James

Arrived on Thursday evening around 8 pm for my first visit to The St. James. $15 cover at that time.

After entering the main room I did a quick survey of the club. It's one of the more attractive ones that I've visited recently. Main room is 2 steps down from entrance. Room is much wider than deep. Really large stage right in front of you as you enter with two rows of tables in front of the stage. To the right is a raised area with seating, ATMs and restrooms. To the left of the stage is some seating on the side, a raised bar and I think some seating in the back of the room. Although the parking lot looked full the club was probably at 1/3 capacity.

The main stage is one of the larger ones I've seen - but no pole which is disappointing. Smoke effect and fairly good lighting on the stage. Sound quality was good. However, DJ had a strange mixed set - hip hop, Joe Cocker, country, etc. Would have preferred hip hop, but not a deal breaker.
