I visited the venerable Condor club from about 8:15 to 9:15 pm on Friday July 29, 2022, during my several day visit to San Francisco. The club is on the corner of Broadway and Columbus with the entrance on the Broadway side. Parking only in small pay lots in the area or on streets, but I was staying in a hotel only about a block away. The club is currently opening at 6 pm with like all other SF clubs at the moment no day shift. Doorman asked for ID and said to place the $10 cover in a basket inside the door. Cover went up to $15 at 9pm and maybe more later? No security stuff. The club is a rectangular shape with the long side along Columbus Ave. The main room, with very high ceilings, is divided in half along its length. The right side as you enter has the main stage on its left. The stage is very long but narrow in depth and is backed by mirrors. It has one high pole. It has a sort of tip rail but there are no chairs there just several 3 or so seat tables. Back from the stage are more tables and against the wall opposite the stage are couch seats. There were some booths near the ends of the stage some of which had reserved signs. Up on the level of the second floor there are a few tables on balconies overlooking the stage, not sure what these are used for.

If you walk around the left of the stage (the right is the entrance to the lap dance areas), you get to the bar area, with the bar directly behind the stage. Past the bar at the entrance to the lap area is a small one pole floor level “stage” lit from below through a transparent floor. It has one pole and was referred by the DJ as the “champagne” stage. This stage is in the shape of a grand piano. Reading the history of the club this is a shout out to the legendary dancer Carol Doda who back in the 1960’s used to appear lowered from the ceiling on a white piano.

There are a lot of TV screens throughout the club. Two flanking the stage showed music videos corresponding to the song being played. Others were showing sports. The club was advertising that the next night July 30 they would be showing the UFC fights (which is one reason I came on Friday rather than Saturday).
