Thumbs Up To Wall
This club is a good 30 minute drive from downtown Montreal where I was staying. Montreal has a compact downtown area, so once I got across the river and was headed east to Marieville it seemed like I was in the country and driving through countryside for a looong time. I put this club at the top of my list of places to visit based on feedback from Wallanon on my request for Canada info. I’ll admit to thinking to myself a couple of times “where the fuck am I going?” and “what the fuck was Wallanon thinking?” Eventually I got to Marieville, which is nothing more than a village. My GPS took me through town and then to the outskirts on the other side into an industrial area.
The club is no longer called La Bar Le Gentleman, and it’s not at 2010 Avenue Industrielle as was listed on TUSCL. It’s actually just past the turn to Industrielle (or just before depending on which direction you’re coming from) at 2025 Rue Saint-Cesaire, so don’t make that turn. It’s in a new, modern looking, somewhat nondescript building. It looks like it could be a dentist’s office. There was what looked like a temporary sign hanging on the front that said simply “GC Gentleman Club.”
The entrance is through a blacked out glass door, and then a second one where a bouncer at a podium collects the $5 CAD ($3.75 US). The main club is a big square, the bar to the left, a big stage projecting from the right, entrance to dancer’s dressing room to left of stage, restrooms toward the far right corner. Everything looks new and upscale—a complete contrast with the rural location.
