Below grade, in more ways than 1

Club is located below ground level. Entrance stairway down is on the Chestnut street side. Lets clarify—it’s not an “underground club”—in Philly, those are WAY more fun, but Atlantis is under ground, ie below grade. Which could be a metaphor for my experience.

$7 cover @8:15 pm on Friday. When I arrived, and for the next 15 minutes, there was no dancer on stage. Inside is fairly large, with a T-shaped bar and stage inside it. The long part of the T points toward the entrance. Bathroom is to the left of the entrances. No attendant, but fairly clean, large. Same private dance concept as at the Purple Orchid. 1 larger communal room for $20/dance. Multiple smaller individual rooms at $30 dance. In the hour I was there, so no one go into or come out of the rooms.

There were about 6 patrons, 2 of whom looked like regulars sitting with their favorites. One of the dancers sitting with a patron stayed with him the entire hour I was there, even to the point of not going on the stage when she was called. There were 2 Caucasian female bartenders 1 kinda cute one not. The cute bartender did flash for tips, but I had the kinda not cute one fetch me my $5.25 Diet Coke.
