Downtown Cabaret Review
Hi - this is my first attempt at a review, so be kind. I’ve lived in the Minneapolis area for about 30 years and have visited many of the SC’s in the area off and on. Only in the last few years have I attended more regularly, which for me is a couple of times a month. About 15 years ago Downtown Cabaret was the place to go for high quality girls. Now a days I feel the quality is just about average. Frankly my favorite in town right now is Ricks with Spearmint a close second. Seville is also very good, but to me it’s the most expensive club in town, so I tend to not go there much.
On this particular day I went to the Twins game first and then stopped by Ricks. For some reason that night, the talent at Ricks wasnt as good as it normally was, so I had a beer, watched the stage for awhile and then decided to try out DTC. I have no problem going to a club and then leaving without spending much if nobody catches my eye. DTC is only a few blocks away so I walked over there. It was probably about 11 PM by then. Cover I think is normally $8 but with a sporting event ticket you get in free. The atmosphere at DTC is very nice and one of the larger clubs in the TC. The receptionist greets you immediately after entering. The bar is forward on your left and the main and smaller stages are off to your right. There were probably 20-30 customers there this evening and probably a similar amount of girls working. I grabbed a chair that had a good view of the main stage. The waitress soon came over and I ordered a beer. $8-9 is the typical cost of beer in Minneapolis SC’s. Over the next 1/2 hour or so several girls came over and asked if I wanted any company. None of them were really my type so I politely declined most of them, but did get one dance for the typical $20. Also, nobody on stage was really catching my eye. However, then one girl - I’ll call her “C”, appeared out of nowhere and we made eye contact. She came over to talk and we chatted for awhile. I got one $20 floor dance from her and then she talked me into VIP. We decided on 30 minutes. Price was $200 plus $75 room charge. The VIP rooms are off to the side of the main stage. You get a semi private room with a drawn curtain. I tipped the bouncer $25 and bought “C” a cocktail of some sort which was $11 or $12. Overall “C” was definitely worth it and gave me one of the best VIP dances in terms of mileage I’ve had. I tipped her another $40 as she was definatley with it.
Overall I had a good time, but I think Ricks is still my local fave.
