Just a regular bar--but with strippers!
The Silver Bullet in Urbana may have been the first strip club I ever went to, maybe about a dozen years ago. I remember leaving that night thinking how it didn't align with my expectations of a "typical" strip club, and after years of experience that suspicion has been confirmed.
Physically, the Bullet seems to be unchanged during my visits there. The stage still runs down the center of the room, nestled up against 6 or 8 tables that allows for direct interaction between the entertainment and the crowd. Lap dances are still delivered behind and to either side of the DJ booth on bar stools. You can still shoot pool in one corner of the club, though I don't know why you would. My overall impression of the place has always been that the Bullet is just a regular bar that had a strip club grafted onto it.
On this latest visit, I was passing through town with a buddy of mine, and we decided to hit it up around 10:00 on a Friday night. The ladies working were generally attractive and interesting enough to talk to. If you toss them a couple bucks on stage and toss them a couple bucks while they come around, then they'll give you some company without getting too pushy for dances. Of course, at 15 bucks a pop, getting a couple dances here and there certainly isn't going to break the bank. Your hands are allowed to rove around anywhere but the boobs and the honeypot.
