Nobody There
This was the only new club I tried on my most recent visit to Montreal. I actually tried it twice. The first time was on a Thursday walking back to my hotel from Cafe Cleopatra. I went down the stairs from the street (the entrance feels very like that for Club Downtown except you go down instead of up) and paid a $5 cover on the way in. After I stepped in, however, I looked around and there was not a single other customer there. A half dozen or so dancers were there at the bar and a table, but there wasn't anyone else at all (and, of course, no stage show going on). It was very strange. I chatted briefly with a dancer at the bar and left.
I returned the next night (Friday) thinking maybe things would be different. They were 100% better, in that there was exactly one other customer there. A completely different group of around eight dancers was there. I decided to give the place a little time. The club is fairly small, but had a nice stage and decent seating around it. There weren't any circulating servers (of course), but at the bar a bottle of water was $7. There wasn't any stage show to watch, but the dancers took turns coming by my table and chatting. They were chattier than Cafe Cleopatra by far, perhaps because there was nothing else at all for them to do.
I can't judge the stage show since there wasn't one, which is too bad given the nice stage. The dancers were ok. None really caught my eye as special, but they were fine. I'd rank them above those I found at Cafe Cleopatra, but not as attractive as those at Chez Paree or Club Downtown. Several were eastern European (Hungarian), two were black.
