Great diversity
Cabaret Les Amazones was the only club I visited in Montreal that wasn't downtown, or near downtown. It was about a 15 minute car ride, which wasn't too bad. It's out in what feels a bit more like a suburb, with smaller buildings and larger lots. Despite this, the club was still below ground, which I found a little odd. I'm not sure what business was taking up the ground floor.
Cover charge was $5.00 (Canadian). Les Amazones was pretty large and open, especially compared to some of the clubs downtown like Wandas and Bar Downtown. There's a large circular stage with a catwalk that leads up to it, and a good number of tables around it for watching the show. There are chairs up next to the stage as well. As with other clubs I visited in Montreal, there's no real stage tipping (possibly because their $1 and $2 are coins) and perhaps as a consequence no real interaction between the dancer and patrons at the stage.
I think my Coke was about $7. The waitresses didn't seem to make it around a ton, but they weren't too bad, and it was easy to get attention at one of the bars. The tables and seats were pretty nice, and the main floor felt like it wasn't terribly old, or it had been recently updated. The stage had a fog machine running and lots of lights.
