La vie en proost

La vie en proost is one of the few "authentic" strip clubs in Amsterdam (it's sister club, la vie deux, is one of the few others, but I did not visit it). It is located in a small alleyway in the red light district - you won't find it unless you know what you're looking for! This review is of a Sunday night from a few months ago (I only went one night so can't comment on the atmosphere on others).

The club is small and not particularly posh, but it is not grungy either. Broadly the setup is two bars, one of them is drinks only and the other is long and wide for the girls to dance on. The girls begin dancing clothed, then dance topless and then finally fully nude. They then offer lap dances to the customers seated at the bar (there aren't many spots, especially later in the evening that I was there). It's not a private dance setup at all and in my opinion the biggest weakness of the club.

Coming to the girls, in general they were reasonably hot (not amazing but a couple of stunners), pretty friendly and unintimidating. There were around 10 dancers on the night I went, mostly white but a good mix in terms of size, hair color and implants. Apart from one blond who was gorgeous but a bit too hard on the hustle, there wasn't too much pressure for dances (drinks are mandatory though).
