Goofy entertainment and some perfunctory live sex

It looks like there haven't been reviews of this place posted in years, so I don't know if there's any interest in one (which is reasonable given the US-centric TUSCL audience). But I did a sort of speed run of Amsterdam in between destinations and figured I'd share some notes.

Moulin Rouge is in the (in)famous Red Light District in Amsterdam, which is centrally located not far from the train station or the big palace. Everyone walks there from somewhere else, as the street doesn't really allow cars or even the ubiquitous bikes. The club was one of two places that were obviously advertising live shows, along with Casa Rosso, though there were others with live-via-video and other advertisements.

The entry fee was 40Euro. When I first arrived it was fairly early, a bit before 7pm, and they let me in mid-show. They told me to come back for an evening start at 7:45pm for the full event. Inside the place was small (a recurring theme in Amsterdam) with a very small elevated stage. There was a bent couch on one side and then rows of short couches on the other, almost like a theater, including a bit of elevation for the back rows. There was a small bar wrapped around the bent couch, with some seats on one side facing across the bar to the stage. It did not feel seedy or dirty; everything was in good shape and clean.
