Definitely a bargain for American customers

Oil markets collapsing, interest rates on the decline... it's a perfect storm for American clients at Montreal's Club Downtown. With the Canadian dollar worth only 75 cents on the US dollar, you're looking at $7.50 per lap dance. That's tough to beat. There was a $5 (CDN) per person cover, too, but again, that's not big deal. We didn't bother tipping the bouncer who showed us to our table. We had our pick of whatever we wanted.

As others have said, you're really not hassled for drinks here. We opted for the bucket of beers which was a decent enough deal and then just took in the sights. Things picked up as the evening went on. It started pretty light around 9pm, a relatively steady stream of dancers rotating through the stage, but groups of the, seemed to just be talking among themselves like a high school dance or something. As time went on, the joint got busier and the ladies more plentiful.

There's not a lot of high-pressure sales from the dancers, but if you do want a lap dance, it's $10 a pop. You'll be escorted upstairs to a booth where you're given the rules. You can touch tits and ass, but nothing 'tween the legs. Standard enough stuff, but there are HILARIOUS diagram/signs in each booth reiterating these rules. There were a few girls who struggled with English, but most were fine en anglais. One thing that has also been mentioned is that there's really no grinding here, it's a very odd dynamic of an air dance where you can grope. It feels a little unnatural at first, but you can quickly get used to it. I'm sure there's a YMMV element to this, too.
