I went to Lipstixx on a Wednesday night. There was no cover at the door, but the door guy insisted he needed a tip before he’d let me in. I only had twenties on me, so I gave him one and asked for nineteen singles back as change. The inside of Lipstixx is very rundown and dirty. I almost walked out of my boots when the sticky floor took a hold of them. There is one stage in the middle of the room and two small stages up against the front windows. Only the main stage was in use. The club wasn’t too busy, maybe a dozen patrons. A beer was $9 if I remember correctly.

What was strange about Lipstixx is that it had two distinctive niches of dancers. About half of the dancers were heavily tattooed and pierced Caucasian Suicide Girls. The other half were chubby to overweight African-Americans. I’d rate the dancers here pretty low in looks. What all of them had in common was that they pushed the VIP room hard, which I think starts at $300 for a half hour and may not include tips and greasing. Lap dances are $40 each or 3/$100. I decided to TOFTT for research purposes, and took back a heavily-tatted rocker chick named Mercedes. We agreed on four lap dances for $100. Off to a room in the courtyard we went. It was very dark inside and smelled like sweat. Mercedes’s grind was decent, but the mood was killed by her pushing for the VIP room the whole time. She stopped at three dances and told me she had done four. I did not care too much because the book rate is 3/$100, but she pissed me off when she started demanding a tip from me afterwards. I refused. I would have been in a better mood to tip if she followed through on our agreement. I went back to the main room to finish my beer and was assaulted by a few of the too-thick black girls. They came over and tried shaking me down for drinks and a visit to VIP room. I don’t think I’d return to Lipstixx if there was a cover charge.
