After a disappointing experience at one of my favorite Bourbon St. clubs I decided to head over to the less well traveled and known clubs along Iberville and Chartres. Many reviews describe the clubs in this area as the place where strippers go to die. And yes, there is good accuracy to this statement. But in past years I have been here and found a diamond in the rough and received very good service with extras. I had recently read conflicting reviews that this club had ditched the strippers and was a full jazz club now and others saying that although they now offer live jazz music, they still had strippers. No dancing strippers mind you. Just VIP strippers. I arrived around 9:30 pm. A band was playing. The sign on the door said jazz and burlesque but I did not see a single girl in the club. Well for that matter, I did not see a single customer in the club. I grabbed a beer, hung around for about 20 minutes and didn't see another soul in the club but me, the bartender and the band. On to the next Iberville dive to see what is available.
