Dr. Don's Famous Door is located...

Dr. Don's Famous Door is located in downtown Jackson, and looks, from the outside, like many main street bars in the midwest. It is nestled between other typical storefronts -- with at least two bank ATMs within a block.

Inside, there is a bar near the door, a single stage, with a couple poles beyond the far end of the bar, some scattered tables and then the “private” dance area (more about this below).

I visited as I was passing through Jackson on a dead Saturday afternoon in January, around 6 pm. I stayed until around 8 pm, and the place was just beginning to pick up. Most of the patrons seemed to be local regulars.
