I have a bone to pick...

I have a bone to pick with Lipstixx. It was a Saturday night and I was hitting up different clubs on Bourbon and noticed a ton of free admittance cards (to Lipstixx) on the street. When I tell you the street was littered with these free entrance/no cover cards, I'm not kidding. I had never been inside, so why not at least? However, anyone who's been on Bourbon knows the street is covered with beer, vomit, urine, horse dung, and whatever else. So...I figure I'd tell the doorman about the ocean of free cards on the ground about 20 feet from the entrance and he/she would understand not wanting to pick them up and honor my admittance. DEAD wrong. She stuck me with the lamest excuse ("we're packed") and tried to stick me with a $5 cover. She then shrugged her shoulders as I walked away.

I don't mind paying a cover (especially since $5 isn't unreasonable at all) for a Saturday night, but two things rubbed me the wrong way. First, there's no way in hell you're packed if you have to hand out that many free admission cards. Clearly not many people took up the offer. Second, she could see the cards on the ground and knew people were handing them out earlier but still gave that pathetic excuse to try and squeeze $5 out of me.

I went back on Wednesday night (no cover) and stayed a short while. Dances were $30-$40 depending on the what the dancer decided to charge (IIRC). There's lots of seating but the club has a claustrophobic feel to it. Everything's packed in pretty tight. The girls there were decent - nothing special. I wouldn't return as I'm still a little peeved at the jackass doorman and there are other places on Bourbon that have the same prices, a nicer interior, and better looking girls.
