Have visited this place on a few occasions, usually late-afternoon to early-evening. It's on the main interstate to or from NOLa so when I find myself coming through Slidell I can choose to wait out rush-hour by dropping in at Scuttlebutt. It's just not a great club. The setting isn't bad -- a little bit small, but with decent booths, and main-floor tables have plush chairs (with very few cigarette-holes, FOR NOW ...), and clean-looking carpet. The restrooms are above-average for a comparable honky-tonk or strip-club, so there's nothing to complain about in the facilities. The girls that I've seen on all occasions have been of limited number and limited quality. Usually no more than five or so working, except on a major weekend night at prime-time. And their looks have bookended the scale: rather below-par, except for a few stunners. It's a weird mix. I think the stunning girls soon move on, either leaving the strip-club industry or going to a larger city (probably New Orleans). In any case, there hasn't ever been anyone that I wanted to get a lapper from, who also seemed available for lappers. The "new" stunning young girls would always disappear to a table full of either high-school buddies or one or two whaling pathetic older men. Either way, I couldn't get their attention. It's basically a country / redneck bar, where dirty hair and dirty tattoos make the skinny weak unshaven boys wearing wife-beaters look like they're tough, but they couldn't handle themselves in the inner city that's fer shure; nevertheless, the girls lap it up. Example: do you "hate" dudes who drive pickup-trucks so you drive a Camaro, especially one that has one exterior rear-view mirror dangling by duct tape? Well you'll fit right in ...
