BTW, regarding ID, I agree it is unlikely they will ask for short-time. It used to be you could even book an overnight room without ID, but HK/Cascadas started checking recently.
I have also seen others mentioning the FMM tourist card, but in ~10 visits I have never purchased one. I always cross over the pedestrian bridge. The agent on the Mexico side usually takes a quick glance at my passport and waives me through. On two occasions, they asked a few questions and stamped my passport, but never mentioned the card. It could be because I am crossing on foot and only staying for 24 hours.

It's not clear to me, but it seems there are two hotels linked to CC: (1) Hotel Jalos and (2) Hotel Leyva (possibly named Hotel Posada de Santiago after remodeling). I may have that wrong, but piecing together the limited reviews, it seems like Hotel Jalos is their hotel for short-time engagements, and Hotel Leyva/Posada is a bit nicer and a better choice for booking an overnight room. I'm hoping someone can confirm. I probably won't get down there again this year.

PT - You mentioned that you stayed in a "downtown" hotel. Do you mind sharing the name and the nightly rate? Thanks!

This is one of the dangers of a single club (HK) and a single owner growing too big. I think things are better for everyone if there is healthy competition with a handful of other vibrant clubs. That's why I plan to focus on CC for my next visit (assuming that is completely unaffiliated with HK).

Great review! The new exhaustive bag check going into Cascadas is totally overkill. What's next, will we need to bend over and spread our cheeks?
Regarding the room deposit, my guess is that the more expensive rooms have the $50 deposit. I got the basic Cascadas room recently and it was a $30 deposit. The waiting at checkout, however, is a pain in the ass either way.
For my next trip, I'm thinking I will center my activities around the Chicago Club and book a hotel there instead of Cascadas. I really like having a room to relax and nap in between activities. I can still walk over to HK once during the visit and pay for the room fee as a one-time deal.

Can anyone confirm the latest Cascadas policy for bringing street girls up for a short time?
It was previously $20-25 for the girl and $0 hotel fee; the Cascadas staff might check her ID and that was about it. In the past, I've even had girls cross the street and come up to my Cascadas room with no hassle.
However, on my last trip a few months ago, all of the paraditas I asked about going to my Cascadas room quoted me a price in the $60-70 range. My Spanish is terrible, I believe they were saying this is the fee, but maybe they thought I was asking about some other arrangement? These were the girls standing close to the Cascadas back entrance. Can someone please clarify?

EastCoaster, RonJax2 - Got it, thanks for clarifying. In that case, the $30 (I don't remember the exact amount) got me absolutely nothing. I had already bought the girl a ficha drink and paid the masero. About 10 minutes later, a different guy (black HK staff shirt) stepped up and said that because the girl was sitting on my lap, I *already* received a lap dance and had to pay him (over and above the ficha drink I had paid for earlier). To be clear, I never asked about or discussed a lap dance with anyone before that. I was simply sitting with the girl having a drink and deciding if we wanted to go upstairs/arriba.

RonJax2 - The $30 fee I mentioned is if you are renting a room for the night in Hotel Cascadas (next door to HK). When you check into the hotel you have to give them $30 in cash separate from the cost of the room. When you check out of the hotel, they refund it after they check your room and confirm there is no damage and no beverages consumed from the mini-fridge.

RonJax2 and funonthaside - Thanks for catching that. I agree, the dancers in HK are fantastic; I would rate them 8-10 overall. When I filled out this review, the drop-down asked (verbatim) "How were the PEOPLE?". If they wanted to know about the dancers, the question should be "How were the GIRLS?" or "How were the DANCERS?". The 1 rating for "people" was exactly what you said... my gripes with the HK management.
Unfortunately, there is no way to edit my review, so I'll keep this in mind when answering questions for future reviews.
