whether we arre a dem republic or con republic doesn't change the fact that the EC voted for a candidate that the majority of americans overwhelmingly chose not to support and thus may be ineffective, in the same way that whether a government is totalitarian or authoritarian doesn't change the fact that requiring its people to pray to the president of the country with that system of government is outrageous. the fact that we are a const. repub or dem repub does not change the fact that the purpose of the constitution and bill of rights was to provide americans with a relatively more democratic system of government compared to monarchy having control over it. can't say the constitution when the very preamble matches what a democracy stands for.
