I have heard girls charge $5-$600 an hour locally in my area to park in the VIP room. So I suppose that kind of pricing is supportable some of the time, by some guys. Welcome to the mindset of a whale, who can simply spend and feel content with the attention he receives.

Went again recently, and one of the girls I picked echoed hamster 80. She said she has a normal day job - but liked Gold Club because she could be a little more naughty and have fun there, than at other clubs.
I picked another one later, a little less attractive with droopy tits. She wasn't all that well practiced as a lap dancer so she mainly rode me cowgirl one song after the other... I let her flapping bags plop into my hands and stared into her eyes going "Unhhh! Unhhh!" until I was a teaspoon of fluid lighter. :-D
The key to this place is don't be too insistent on looks. Hunt for ladies who like to be a little wild. I have not met anyone yet, that turned me down for floor dances as a test drive.

Yeah I started coming here after spending a lot of time and money at an upscale club... The ladies were very keen on selling VIP and did few floor dances. This club has more bored single moms who want to feel sexy and get some attention. They are more content to sell floor time, get a few drinks and converse.

Went recently, a bouncer told me to take my hands off a stripper during a chair dance... Just rubbing her shoulders. She thought it was dumb too, and admitted the club's protectiveness makes chair dances too tame.
VIP is more reasonable on touching, and the champagne room at $100 for 15 minutes is a good value (dancer keeps $70 of it).
I have not written this club off, but it has dropped a few notches for me.

Went there tonight, some of the beat-up couches in VIP have been replaced. Maybe management is reading TUSCL?

I have noticed that some dancers can be *very* determined to force a conversation to take place, and refuse to take multiple hints that you would like to be left alone. I encounter this more before 8 pm if I am the only obvious mark to be hustled. It makes me more inclined to come in later, when I can blend in with the crowd.

Maybe you are getting burned out on the club. Although the dancers are mostly middling, they're a step above the clubs in Gastonia and Hickory, IMO. I do agree there is a noticeable lag between bartenders on shift change. Overall though, I plan to give this club some more visits.

I pretty much agree. It is a medium mileage place - but affordable cover, drinks are not too pricey, lots of nice padded chairs, and most of the ladies are fine with just selling $10 floor dances. Nice climb to just hang out in for under $150, for a few hours. But it does not stand out and excel in any particular regard.

I do still go here from time to time, though. Despite the slow service and dingy decor, it is a really cheap gamble for a local.

Every now and then I think about reviewing this club again, but I just comment since it's the same old story. Cheap dances, little privacy, run down club, mostly unattractive dancers... But I did mention cheap, right?

As scummy as it sounds for the bartender to have ruined the drinks, it may have been from dirty glasses or some food the two of you ate earlier.
I don't give people a reason to seek retribution on me though... I would not have sassed a club employee however. They deal with difficult customers all the time. I don't want tbe perceived as one.

Reviews here always come across as marginal, but not as blah as some of the other MAL clubs like Crazy Horse. I suppose I will eventually try this place, but it does not beckon to me.

I have not been here for 15 years now, but it is interesting to read that it is still open. The key to enjoying the place is spending less than strip club rates but exploring among the girls, and being able to get on your feet and dance with them. (the typical SC experience can be quite sedentary.) And not caring too much about seeing tits... Just touching them. :^}

I have gone on Thursdays and it's not very busy, about 7 girls on stage. This club just limps along, I only bother to visit since it is only a few miles away. Fri/Sat are the best nights. Sassy works then, she makes the best stage show including some pole work, and can draw 3 or 4 regulars to the stage, which gives the place some vibe and entertainment value.

Some more notes... If there are not enough guys in the club, Scores doesn't even schedule 2-for-$50 promos. This is mitigated a bit since it gets easier to find girls willing to sit with you to just talk and keep warm.
Also when it gets very slow, the floor dances can get a little better and girls are more interested in selling them.
All in all though I am at a stage where i mostly buy dances from ladies I am familiar with. You need to have some faith exploring here.. Give someone you enjoy 3 or 4 nights of VIP. Girls here just like anywhere are better with the guys they feel are safe and reliable payers. They also begin slipping you free admission tickets to skip the door fee ;-}

I've wondered how they can recruit dancers when the lap prices are so low and $10 of the VIP fee goes to the house. My assumption is that only dancers without cars, or those who really don't want to go to Charlotte, will work here. As for any "remodel" I have to laugh. They have the same chairs around the stage as 7 years ago although the VIP room chairs were replaced somewhere in that time frame. I noticed the neon sign out front isn't even working anymore. I've also heard dancers grips about the back rooms...
L&L really needs to be bought by someone prepared to improve it, but I would not hold my breath... Gastonia wants to redevelop the west end of Main street someday for the new ballbark and I doubt we'll see anyone risk putting money into this club.

I'm going to assume your memory is off - and that $100 only buys 15 minutes like earlier reviewers wrote. That would be more in line with the pricing at Treasure Club in Asheville.

Sheesh, that doesn't sound like going back for. Charlotte generally isn't a great stomping ground for clubs, but there are some with better reviews over a long time frame than this one.

You were generous to rate this place a 7 on value. I have not been here but the reviews are always bleh. Sometimes I thumb through the free Spanish local weeklies and I see ads for this club... They seem to accept the fate of being a basic bar for construction workers.

I think legit. He joined in October 2016 even though this is his first review. Clubs probably do not prepare that far in advance to advertise.
