Like the review (horse faced tramps), I stop in at most once a year but not in the past 2 years, Way back, I saw and got a dance with Ona Zee. She came by and sat at the outer bar ( may not be there anymore) and we talked for about 5 minutes. That experience keeps this place on the list although no dancers since then come close.

Good vAriety of comments. I have visited PHL on and off for about 7 years. Yes, a few of the performers are the same from the first visit. Almost always at least two performers (most are not "dancers" and the number who could dance their way out of a wet paper bag has decreased) could raise the flag pole. But they tend to have regulars who provide good tips, so they may not circulate around the bar often.
Although the age of most dancers is not a problem for me, seeing them outside in the daylight can chill the interest. Still Cayenne delivers and one other, so I periodicly return for the reliable session.

Rob1115 nails the best comparison to dealing with Mercedes: meeting with an accountant. If one can tune her out and enjoy the body, then it can work, briefly. She does not get better with more time.

Agree with Artax comment on a club "crack down". After returning for occasional visits after more than a year elsewhere, I find the services expanding with dancers I have seen before and whom remember me. Note the expansion does not go anywhere near what is available at "parlors", but recent dances have been more relaxed and exploratory.

Yes it is "same ol', same ol''". And the regular dancers have their regular customers and they are fine with that arrangement. My "old lot" choice is Cayenne since we are comfortable after many visits, she will talk at the bar, quickly get to business in the closet, strip naked and spread to tease (we all know the limits at this place) and willing to please. When I went by looks, I have tried dances with Mercedes (downer) and others with less satisfaction. So when I visit, I do not expect anything new and I am willing to take someone I know. Then again, before xmas I saw a new dancer as I was leaving, tall blonde (Jenny?), but I had to leave before finding out when or if she was returning. So new blood trickles in sometimes, consistent with the basic tease of this place. But for a richer experience I go elsewhere.

You will get a better and more thorough experience at an AMP with a 5'6 or taller attendant than you will ever get with Mercedes. And you will pay less and not get endless chatter.

I second your emotion. When she is comfortable with you, she can be open and gfe at the bar. She does not waste your time with her inside.

And very suburban. Dancers tend to be heavy, more overweight than not. However this week a few new ones but same body type. My favorite, a former ballet dancer, moved on after about a year here. And my favorite bartender, ex dancer, went on medical leave. But at least a few new dancers are showing up to make some $$$ for holidays. Low mileage.

Do not bet on the schedule being updated. Their motivated to include any and all dancers that bring in customers. No consequences to including names not expected to attend. Count the names rattled off and you may see half that number visible, even accounting for the popular ones in the rooms.

I appreciate your experience with the "younger in real life OTC" dancer. My experiences are at the opposite end of the age range. Most of the dancers I thought looked great to very good inside the typical club lighting - dark, heavy on reds to cover edges (wrinkles) - end up looking their age or worse in the sunlight. Especially dancers 45+ who qualify as grandmothers and show their age in the sunlight. Also many indoor-attractive dancers looked less fit and somewhat flabby in street clothes. Fortunately I have a few favorites who look even better in tight jeans, boots and a barely buttoned shirt.

Thanks for posting your experience with the wrap. After my exposure about 18 months ago, I have seen only one post mentioning it since then. I almost asked her if she still takes that precaution but now I do not have to ask. Still a bit strange but not something one would experience OTC. One and done.
- My New Roster Addition
Excellent review. I stopped going to PH more than a year ago because the roster got stale, the action was pedestrian, and I had experienced so much more, for less, elsewhere - SoCal, LA, Texas, Detroit, FLA, NYC, etc. Unfortunately NJ is the only state where I see mostly 40-60 age dancers in the afternoons, limited action and even less action in the evenings! The exception clubs seem to get closed down for other reasons (BallPark). But these reviews may motivate me to make an Alumni Day visit to PH to see how the roster has aged and remind me why I go elsewhere these days.
- Tale of two ladies
FYI, Cayenne has been doing the saran wrap protection since at least 2021. Keeps jumpy things living in pubic hairs at bay. So you get plastic wrap on top of plastic flagpole cover. I found it odd, thoughts of wrapping leftovers from dinner, etc. But I enjoy time with the woman, especially if I get a laugh out of her.

Interesting comments. I have not been to PL for over a year while I pursued other "actual mileage available" places in PA or MPs in NJ. I visit afternoons only and I passed retirement age. But I was a regular at PL for a number of years and pushed beyond the PL HJ with a few of the old timers. I agree with these comments: you can get more for less elsewhere. Dancers show a range of approaches to the wallets on the bar stools. But we are only wallets to them. Some visitors like PL because it is a relatively safe place & environment with relatively few wackos on stools or the stage. But it lacks the range of experience one can find elsewhere, whether knockout dancers providing high mileage experience or acceptable fun, or the open-to-anything, likely-on-drugs dancer providing a truly different experience. Thanks for these comments as it sparked me to make a brief visit back to see how the regulars have aged. Note a truly sobering experience is seeing any of the dancers in the sunlight. I have seen a few - Ca..., An..., .. - and it dampened the urge to go back.

Place definitely worse over last few managers. On premises services are Very limited but I have met 2 dancers ready to talk extra curricular activity off hours. Work in progress.

Used to go to TJ when I lived in San Diego many years ago. Adelita's and HK back then would be considered old school today based on your excellent review. Having been to places all over the US, Europe, Australia, and Mexico, I agree with your reasons for being drawn back to TJ. Being tall and athletic, I never had to worry about a cab ride from the border crossing and back but I have read the incidents have increased. But it is hard to pass up "unabashed debauchery". Thanx for the post.

Comprehensive review minus interaction. This club is pedestrian SC. HJ only except for a few veterans who can provide more once they are comfortable with you (usually 2-3 visits). But the dancers are older and show it. Some from Brazil have been here more than 3 years. Night time varies more than daytime crew but you can find better mileage for less elsewhere. Been a user for over 30 yrs, all over the US, Europe, Australia. This place is comfortable for most people although I did have another patron with a dancer die of a heart attack while I was with a dancer in the next room. Emergency medical and cops all over the place. So it can be exciting on rare occasions! But normally slow paced.

Frequented the place for 3 years. The club is a pedestrian SC. Rare to find some extras (Cayenne!) and the norm is an overpriced HJ. Atmosphere is relaxed, so many people are comfortable stopping in. But dancers are not the best, older, but many are friendly and try to provide a GFE experience. But not all of them and not the best looking ones. You will spend more and get less than available elsewhere. The women from Brazil have been there from 3-5 years and it shows. And the bathroom is a joke, gas station quality.

I heard (read) they changed access to the schedule. FYI, it was rarely reliable anyway, at least for particular dancers. One was in Brazil for 2 weeks yet appeared on the schedule. Others appear to work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Of course they do not work those hours as a regular schedule.
