Underwhelming, but I’m not counting this place out yet.
Like many of my reviews, this is a bit lengthy. Jump to the last paragraph for my final thoughts.
This was my first time to Playhouse. This club is located on Rt. 130 South in Burlington. The last time I was in this area was about 15 years ago, and I recall the area did not seem super safe at that time. Thankfully, that does not seem to be the case any more. The area looked and felt incredibly safe. The club is a large pink building. I know everyone says “you can’t miss it” due to the pink siding, but what they don’t tell you is that the building is obscured by the car dealership just before the club. Especially at night time. So you can miss it if you aren’t paying attention. The parking lot was surprisingly large and well lit for the middle of the night. This is a tiny detail that I find many clubs tend to ignore.
When you enter, you are greeted by the bouncer to collect the $10 cover and give you a drink tag. This club is BYOB, so it is mostly water, soda, or juices to drink. There is a liquor store within a 5 minute walk if you need alcohol. The bar is long and rectangular in the center of the club with stools all around. I’m usually more of a table patron, but this club did not have any. When I entered, there were maybe 8-10 other patrons in total. I grab a seat and got my bottle of water and proceeded to enjoy the show. Within about 10 minutes of my arrival, I was accosted by about 4 girls asking for money from the dollar parade. I typically don’t have an issue with the dollar parade as that is part of the game, but if I literally just sat down, let me at least get my water and singles from the bar tender first.
