Ok, so I'll have to admit that I was a bit concerned about reports about the neighborhood, cars being broken into, the fact that phones aren't allowed in the club, etc. but largely based on prior positive feedback on this site - and wanting to try something new - I decided to give E.I. a go. I arrived at about 11PM on a Tuesday. As others have mentioned, there's a church parking lot directly across the street where you can park in, although occasionally vehicles have been known to be broken into in that lot. The somewhat-sketchy parking situation and the "no-phones-allowed" policy are probably the two biggest minuses for this club, but - if you're careful and do some advance planning/basic precautions (more abt that below), that can more than be made up for by having a good time here.

When you first walk up to the building, to the left/center of the building, there's a take-out food place (I think chicken?) that's connected to the club. The entrance to the actual club is around to the right hand side. When you open the club door, you immediately see the "outer room/bar area". This is where you pay your cover, get searched, and are reminded about the no-phones policy. I did ask about the no-phones policy, and was told that I could (at my option) leave the phone up with the security people at the front, and then claim it on my way out. (In my case, I had already decided to leave it in my parked rental car in the church, across the street). I'm not sure I'd be okay with leaving the phone at the front - maybe if I was using my cheapo $50 Android "secondary/back-up phone" I'd take that risk (or more likely, just hide it somewhere outside, or something), but definitely I would not give up my "Main iPhone" like that, even if it is passcoded.

The outer room had an interesting mixture of "stuff" in it. I seem to remember seeing a pool table, a jukebox, there was the main bar, and several regulars/locals and multiple club security people hanging out, as well as 1-2 dancers either grabbing a drink, on a break, etc..
