It seems like this guy is basing his rating solely on looks, and that's what rows his boat. Opinions vary. If money was no object, I'd recommend going to Vegas and getting OTC there. Not sure why he's complaining to the rest of us about it, and if you browse to the listings for South America, you find out pretty quickly that there's no reviews there that would inspire your average PL to make the more expensive and involved trip that far away. I totally want to try an FKK club someday because of what I've read here, but Columbia? Meh.

Well done! So what farmacia do you go to, and how much are you paying?

I'll make a point of poking my head in when I'm there in two weeks as I'll be doing my first multi-day stay. :-)

What's weird is that this sounds like a trip to a U.S. club. He crossed an international border for this? :-)

@gingerhat: Thanks for the perspective. I decided on Sat/Sun/Mon and a jacuzzi room, so the VIP card is well worth it this time. Agree on Saturday afternoons -- like my last two trips, my plan at the end of this month is to get to HK noonish, park my bag at the front desk for $2 plus a tip, and window shop until check-in time. @MisterWonderful: I didn't say it got ripped off accidentally. I hate those things. :-) Interestingly, the girls in the other clubs made a point of noticing that I had it on.

Thanks for the review -- glad to hear that quality overall in the Zona is trending up in advance of my next trip. :-) How often do they do the shaving cream shows here? Last time at HK it seemed like they were every half hour, alternating between the first and second floors in the back.

Thanks for the review. I didn't know that they won't give the VIP discount in the hotel without a reservation... I'm going to finally buy one of the cards 'cause I'm planning a two day stay. The other thing I want it for is getting in the club without worrying about the cover -- the wristband you get at the hotel if you're staying there is handy but irritating at times and the last time I was there I ripped mine off a couple of times in the shower and had to keep asking for a new one at the desk. Question for the group: I haven't decided if I'm going to do Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, or Sun/Mon for my stay... taking the cost of a room at Cascadas out of the equation, which two days offer the best prospects?

Awesome, detailed review and I'm looking forward to the rest. A few things came to mind while reading about your prep work... First, yeah, you overdid your shopping list a little IMHO. :-) A lot of the stuff you listed you could have easily got from there for a lot less money. Second, on my trips I've brought bigger bills instead of a pile of ones because I've never had a problem getting change at one of the bars inside HK. I wouldn't trust a mesero I didn't know with a fifty, but the bartenders are fine 'cause you're right there for it. Third, given your budget, I would invest in a portable bluetooth speaker for your next trip -- I have one that comes in its own case (about the size of an old fashioned eyeglass case) and lasts about 10 hours before it needs charging. Thanks to other tips from the larger group, I will be going down there in August with some good local music and yes, gorritos con sabor...

@shyguy: Be sure and pace yourself on alcohol. Hit the Oxxo for water and energy bars if you're not into the taco stands. Watch the other gringos in the clubs to see what they're getting from the girls. Be polite and gently turn down the offers you don't want -- at worst it'll cost you a buck and a peck on the cheek. Don't be shy about approaching a girl if you're interested, but talk her up first over fichas to see if you have chemistry.

Thanks for the info -- I've passed this place before but was reluctant to check it out because the daytime shooting there last year made me nervous about the clientele. Any info on the hotel? I think it's a bit pricier than Cascadas but I have no idea if it's nice enough to justify the cost...

@Dblednmike: Gracias! @EastCoaster: Girl wanted & got 50 on top of the fee. Worth it for me because it included the beers. The VIP booths are closed off, 6' x 6' roughly, private and have a couch.

@justme62: I've been close to getting a card, but the timing on my trips always seems to make the hotel savings a wash. I think I read at some point that the card gets you in the door at night without having to pay the cover. Is that true? If so, then it may make it worth it for me 'cause I like popping in and out if I feel like stretching my legs or checking out the other clubs...

Good stuff - On the subject of fichas, I would keep trying if I were you. I was pretty shy the first few times and came away vaguely disappointed. After a while, you realize that you're not the only dirty old man they're going to deal with in the course of a day. Each girl has her limits, yes, but as long as you're not a jackass about it you should be able to spend a decent amount of time with your hand down her pants over that cocktail. ;-) Happy hunting!

I can relate... I've never pulled the trigger there, either. I don't quite understand the vibe at this place yet but it's on my list for my upcoming trip and maybe pop that cherry. :-) One thing that's always in the back of my mind is that I get a room at Cascadas and I *very* rarely see guys escorting girls across the street (in either direction). I think I'd feel I was drawing a lot of attention to myself...

If I'm not happy with the pickings at HK, I can usually find what I'm looking for at Las Chavelas... been a while since I've taken a girl upstairs from Adelita's. I'll be swinging through TJ twice in February and might try again. Not being able to take the girls to Cascadas is a pain because I get a room there. Anyone here get a room in the hotel above Adelita's for the night? The website says it's $100 for the night and it's hard to justify that cost given the limitations...

Chicas from HK, Chavelas and BT will go to Cascadas, all are run by the same people. PedWest is the new one that you get to via the footbridge by the outlet mall.
