For most people, strip clubs are an afterthought. It is dismissed as a place to go out before there is any consideration to what “fun” could be had at these establishments. How old were you when you became aware of all of this? How long did it take you to become aware of this world?
When did you become aware?

Too late (but before 25)
Awhile, we'll just say that. Although during my teens I'd sometimes see the local strip joints while driving around and wonder what it's all about......
I remember being curious, but never had on older brother or friends to suggest going. Finally at 22, a co-worker brought it up and I was in. My first club was the Spotted Giraffe in Newport KY, back in the good ol' days of Brass Ass fame. The minute I walked through the door, I was hooked. The dancer wore a flimsy nighty that the flashed open occasionally, revealing her total nudity underneath.
What struck me as funny was I never had an instant attraction to anything else to that point. Not my school subjects, educational major, work, vacation spots, nor even girlfriends. But SCs were an instant and unambiguous hit, and remain so 40 years later. I remember thinking, Fuck! The one damn thing that works, right out of the gate - the closest thing to a revealed epiphany I'd ever experience - involves that one thing I can't easily share with friends nor participate in, depending on locale/circumstances.
Also, most women hate SCs. They don't mix well with girlfriends/marriage, and even friends/co-workers seem puzzled when they would ask me what I did over the weekend or vacation, and I'd mumble some vague non-committal statements while hoping that they won't probe further.
Geez - life is fucked up sometimes.
I wrote my only article about that.
I was 24 when friends took me to a club in Fairbanks AK. It was 39+ years later, in 2017 when I discovered lap dances.
Well said Rod84
21 when my coworker took me out for my birthday. I had no idea. We went to a local joint he had handed the fine looking Dominican chick that was thick in all the right places some cash and said take care of him it’s his birthday. Ahh good times good times.
Good story, @Rod84.
When I was young, a night club down the street got shut down because they had nude dancers without a license. I'd never heard of such a thing and my interest was instantly piqued. Naked ladies in person?!? This was back before high speed internet, when the best a small town boy like myself could hope to find were some weathered porno mags in the woods. (Usually Easyriders... white trash biker chicks lmao.)
Fast forward to college, all those prude bitches thought guys who went to strip clubs were "gross". Not wanting to affect my dating prospects, I avoided SCs.
Finally, in my late 20s I attended my first bachelor party. TV and movies always made it seem like you couldn't touch the dancers. So I figured, what's the point? But that night in Tampa my hands roamed everywhere and I knew this was definitely going to become a hobby of mine...
18 up in Montreal at the now extinct Supersexe on St Catherine St. 30 yrs ago. Good, fun times!
Montreal still fun after all these years with their erotic massages & HE's
I didn’t start going to strip clubs until after I was married and had kids. Living in Miami my entire life, there was enough supply of “free” civilian pussy as long as I was single - but this always came with strings attached. So after I was married I found strip clubs, where I can have a 2 hour affair and not worry about someone calling me after the fact.
^I do like the casual nature of the relationship
I was hooked on strip clubs when I went with my best friend for my 21st and I got a lap dance from a gorgeous black dancer with a gold-medal bum.
I learned about extras from StripClubList, sought out a place with them, and it fried my brain.
Aware by my mid 20s but did not get really into it as a regular thing until quite some years later during a time I was "unattached" so there was no reservation about enjoying the scene.

Took me about 3 years after legal drinking age.
