World Cup's Impact on Strip Clubs

With the Soccer World Cup coming to may of the US' key strip clubbing cities [Atlanta, Philly, Dallas, New Jersey (ok, this one is perhaps a stretch), and Miami], I am curious to see what the impact on strip club experiences will be.

On one hand, I feel I should take a break this summer, as clubs will be filled with club novices who lack decorum.

On the other hand, perhaps new talent will be brought it.

Perhaps it will not significantly alter MY experience, as I suspect the visitors may gravitate toward night shifts, and I prefer days. But, there could be increased scrutiny over clubs.

Maybe I'll stick to the neighborhood / less popular clubs, which I tend to prefer anyway.

Philly hosted a big international soccer tournament last year. FIFA maybe. I saw a lot of international visitors on the street in Center City, mostly near the historical sites, with soccer shirts, but they looked like rich people there with their kids and families. I would occasionally see a small group of young men. I’m not sure any strip clubs are on their itinerary.

It may be like the events with Super Bowl where you see an influx of providers coming from different countries. Mongering is mongering regardless of what country you're coming from or in. I'll sit on the sidelines during that time. I know in the NY/NJ area, the crowds on trains traveling to MetLife will be heavy, so I won't go to NYC to see some of my CF ladies... Stay safe out there!

Don't recall a blip on the SC/SWer scene when the FIFA tourney was in Phila last year. Just wealthy foreigners in jerseys wandering around Center City, like Studme says. Maybe World Cup will have a bigger impact but, if I were a foreign visitor in the current environment, I would be steering clear of any illegal or even marginally dubious activity

The thing will be a shit show but I’ll give it a shot whether in Prov or Hallandale/Miami Gardens

The world cup is also in the Boston area in between the Boardroom and Club Desire. If it follows the [ath of when March madness is here, the clubs will be jammed.

All hot strippers/females: Come to Dallas! It’s the best!

In the past I’ve seen “human trafficking”.busts around major events. They love to do it around Super Bowls so I wouldn’t rule out some harassment for show.

Kind of surprised they didn't try to deport half the people gong to the WBC

Willie Sutton, famous mid-20th Century bank robber was asked why he robs banks: "I rob banks because that's where the money is." Strip clubs with FIFA and same probably have the same motivation.

Somehow, this got me to thinking about Boston and my many trips there as a kid w/parents in the early 1960s, and for work with DEC (Digital Equip Corp.)

@skibum609 BTW, we are the same age. Is the Combat Zone still a thing? I knew about it when I traveled to Boston for DEC meeting and classes. Also, is the seafood "No Name Restaurant" still there?

And Durgin-Park down by Faneuil Hall and Union Oyster House? I think they are sadly gone - huge American history. My dad use to love Durgin-Park however I've forgotten what it was he so loved. Was Prime Rib the biggie? I remember as a kid it had its own "culture."

Faneuil Hall had a bakery that had the best macaroons, big fluffy moist with an almond on top, that I judged all others by. They were the best. It's been about 40 years since I was last in Boston.

My Great Aunt had a nice home in Dennis Port we use to visit when I was like 4-8 years old, a good quarter acre, 2,800 sq ft couple hundred feet from a cove we could walk to go swimming and play in the sand. We'd go to a pier/dock restaurant for lobster, REALLY laid back, and cheap. I remember all this. I'm sure it has drastically changed.

One of my bucket list items would be to spend 2-3 months in an AIRBNB (or similar deal) with my dogs, hang out and watch the Cape Cod Baseball games that are supposed to be like 1950s style. I bet it has changed so much I'd be deeply disappointed as you "can't go home" and expect the same as you grew-up with.

I'm raising a litter of 5 Collies that are now 11-days old. I do a lot of watching, feeding, cleaning up, not sleeping, ect and have time to think back on stuff. No TV in here, just my laptop & iPhone. Kind of nice to shutoff the world for a bit.

Mogul: The combat zone died. Two clubs there. Total waste. Back in the 70s there was 21 clubs. The no name is gone for 5-6 years now. Durgin Park, famous for prime rib, family style dining and classically rude waitstaff closed a couple of years earlier. Believe it or not the Cape Cod league still exists and remains essentially the same. Wooden Bats too. The fields seat between 2500 and 8000 people. Collegiate sanctioned by the NCAA with over 1,000 former players having played pro baseball. 90 Minutes north in Worcester, we have the WooSox in maybe the finest minor league park in the country; well most expensive anyway, complete with green monster. Its actually cool because both Fenway and this park are rare parks in downtown of a major city. Baseball is still big here. Even our town little league facility has 3 diamonds lit for night baseball and a concession stand. The Cape has changed. Not even close to the same. Only time I go across the bride is to golf with my brother.

The Cape sucks. The parking and traffic suck the people are rude and things are overpriced

I don’t know why people go there tbh

NN when it was around was great

Fenway and the Green Monster! Yes, I remember it. My Great Aunt loved Carl "Yaz" Yastrzemski, as did my grandfather (he was in Syracuse though, not Boston.) I was never big on baseball, although the Cape Cod League seems like fun.

My dad would take us with our cousin (my Great Aunt's only son, lived in Marblehead), my dad's age, to DP. My cousin was with Patton's 3rd, and lost an arm at the Battle of the Bulge - and was a very good one-arm golfer when I knew him.

One thing I use to go to a lot in Syracuse were Field Days: corn, steamers/clam bakes, beer. There is nothing even remotely close to it in Colorado (especially steamers.) It seemed like there was one within 45 mins every weekend in the Summer. In college one Summer I sold lobsters at Skaneateles Lake for $4.50/pound - I'd sell 150 or so pounds each weekend, keeping them iced was a challenge, and I had up-to 5 pounders, not these chicken lobster that are stupid expensive now.

Thanks for the local update. Really appreciated The Walk.

To this day I still relate way better the New England environment than I do Colorado even though I've been here since 1983. I know it is way different now, still it is in my head.

People forget that in his early years Yaz was hated because he replaced Ted Williams. It was only when he got old that he became endearing, like Steve Grogan and Wayne Cashman. Personally my only memory of Yaz is his popping out with runners on base to end the Bucky dent game; never forgave him for that lol.

Getting back to the World Cup discussion, when the Superbowl comes to Miami, super hot women, including instagram and onlyfans influencers show up in town to work private parties and events, and some will pick up shifts at the higher end Miami clubs like Tootsies or E11even. The same happens to a lesser extent with F1. The strip clubs are definitely more crowded around these events with people who are in town with money, so I would expect the same with the World Cup.

Yeah, I'll check out Tootsie's around the WC, if I can't sneak into the tailgate, but man the ID check is gonna suck.

How does one get invited to those private parties, lol?

^^^ Gotta be a lot richer than me. But I’ve been to some corporate events where they hire hot girls as “hostesses” to mingle with clients. It seems unlikely that any of these hired interactions ever resulted in any type of OTC action, but it’s possible. I never tried, but it’s always nice to have a hot girl in a short skirt and high heels to hang out with - and make you think you have a chance.
