Weight requirements should vary depending on how tall someone is. 150lbs on a 5 footer looks very different than 150lbs on someone 5'10". IMO requirements should be based on several factors besides weight. Granted they are all subjective but fitness, sexiness, poise, hygiene, should also be factors but once again different strokes for different folks.

I'd agree with viking2012, "fitness, sexiness, poise, hygiene, should also be factors". There are large/heavy women who present great, find flattering outfits to wear and can look and move in a sexy way. Then there are just out of shape fat dancers who .. don't. I do get each to their own, and that the location/clientele of a club can make a difference, but putting those dancers in a club where in-shape hotter dancers are expected isn't good imo.

I'll never forget stopping by Club Platinum in Vegas and seeing a dancer in her 60's in a thong. I nearly lost my lunch, but other PLs were still getting dances from her. So that's my policy. You personally may think she's too old/too heavy/too ugly, but if she's still making money that speaks for itself. But if everyone's ignoring her she'll probably quit on her own anyway.

I think a smart club caters to the tastes of many not just a few.

Hiring practices? Based on what I’ve been seeing lately, I’m pretty sure all applicants have to do is blow the hiring manager to get hired. It couldn’t be based on looks.

I wish there were clubs just for fat chicks, so I could avoid them.

I don't think I've ever been to a club where they ever had to do more strip naked in front of whoever it is who does the hiring. That's because every club I've ever gone to had some dancer who simply shouldn't have been dancing.

Actually, there was one exception I remember, where participating in the amateur contest got them the ability to dance on stage on a regular night at some point before the next amateur contest

Obesity has hit the late teen and twentys generation lately in a huge way. Pun intended. I suspect this is even worse in rural and working class cities. Maybe if you are in Miami Beach or another wealthy affluent area the obesity rate amongst the youngsters will be lower.

The venn diagram overlap of young fit attractive non-overweight girls and women wanting to strip is getting smaller. hence they have to take bigger, older, less attractive women to fill the roster.

IF a club is lucky enough to have much for standards, it is because they are busy enough that they don't need the extra bodies in their clubs. In an ideal world, this would be a self policing process. The only way that big/old/ugly girls don't continue to dance is if PLs stop supporting them. If they can't make money, they won't be dancers. You can say the same about clubs that have had to resort to hiring Cubans. If the customers stop buying dances from Cubans they will not dance in that club.

Maybe I am just old fashioned. I still like dancers that could pass for college hard body. I blame the young guys for all this body positivity shit. When Sports Illustrated and Victoria's secret are featuring models that appear 200+ pounds - what do you expect to see in the SCs?

@PAWG_Patrol - i totally agree with you and I wish there were more English speaking dancers here in Miami, but unfortunately the vast majority of dancers are Cuban or some other non-English speaker. The English speaking dancers tend to be older or less attractive. Yes there are exceptions, but they are a rarity.

As the individual who brought this up for discussion, it does not appear there is a consensus on clubs having any particular requirements concerning weight, height, age, personal hygiene etc.

Strip clubs can hire everyone who applies for a stripper job and then let the customers decide who to spend money on. The club runs the risk, though, of customers deciding to avoid clubs filled with unattractive strippers. Clubs also have a limited capacity when it comes to how many people can be in the club. So, it seems to me, if a club has more females applying for stripper jobs than it needs it should set up some criteria for picking one applicant over another.

being able to have an easy conversation with a dancer is a big plus, but it is NOT (in my opinion) a necessity. there have been times where I've had chemistry flowing between me and the dancer and she doesn't know a word of English and me not of Spanish.
