First off, I abhor and detest political violence in any form. I hate the fact that Kirk died and has a grieving widow and children. Now that this has been stated, I should point out that many people on both sides of the political spectrum agree with this sentiment.
It is not correct to suggest that a person's death, however tragic, spares them from the criticism of their actions in life. I have sat and listened to Kirk's podcast appearances and videos of his debates. Kirk said very hateful and racist dialogue and used rhetoric not unlike protests against the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. You can not repair a nation by demeaning a percentage of your population and dividing it. The fact that so many states are memorializing this man, with me living in two of them, says EVERYTHING I need to know about the people supposedly mourning him. Kirk did not deserve to die, but speech has consequences in this world, and the government can not protect you from everything.
God, I wish I could move to Atlanta, GA, or Southern California so badly.
My disgust is twofold. The assassination of Charlie was bad enough, but the politicization of his death is worse. This is being used as a way to go after Trump's opponents, not mourn a man. The public wake was more befitting of a Trump rally than a solemn period of remembrance. This entire process post-assassination has been a TPUSA campaign.
