Depends on the club. Dont do it. It becomes too easy to lose track of your spending. Ive heard too many stories of over charging. It creates a paper trail you may want no one to see.

Plus the upcharge if you use a card vs cash is outrageous. It has to be a huge profit center for the clubs

I personally only use cash at clubs.

But the charges are upfront and you get a receipt. So its not that easy to rip you off when youre signing for everything.

Sammy - never use your card in the club for anything...ever.

@icey the charges arent really upfront. Even if you ignore the overcharging or potential for club staff to write fraudulent tips- a lot of clubs have a fee for using credit cards. And there should be signs mentioning it but they may not tell you upfront

Chunkychicano rickymacrodong cacaplop baristafan mrmonger IlovewhiteAmericanchicks have you ever been to a club? You sign for the charges and it goes through right there. Like when you pay a restaurant tab or close out a bat tab. And you get a receipt right then and there. 🤡

And you agree to pay that fee if there is one when you sign your bill and get your receipt. Go troll elsewhere

What I've heard is that the chargeback rate is high for credit card charges made in strip clubs. Some clubs have a policy of shorting dancers a percentage when the PL pays with a card, supposedly to cover what the club loses to chargebacks.

Based on a few news reports, it's common practice for local government officials, like school district superintendents, but put all of their out-of-town official business expenses on credit cards, including a couple of thousands a night at strip clubs. One of the small benefits that make up for middling salaries.

Yes, most corporate clubs allow credit cards for vip rooms. Many also allow you to use credit cards to buy club funny money that can be given in place of cash for dances. Some independent clubs also have an option to buy funny money, but not as many. Most likely, you will be paying 20% for that service . (For example, if you buy $100 in funny money, then your card will be charged $120)

Yeah, it’s a bit risky to use credit card in club. You also are giving away your negotiating leverage should you and the dancer have a dispute over number of dances or time. Good to have the card as a backup but it shouldn’t be your first plan of payment.

Many of the responders here have never been to the clubs in Miami or Pompano. Some of the generic comments are reflective of the policies of those clubs, many are not.

Nicespice's answer is the most reflective of common policies I've encountered at south Florida clubs. When it comes to the funny money, in addition to charging you a fee on the front end, its also less desirable to the girls on the back end. Some clubs charge them another percentage to convert it to cash, some clubs hold it for up to a month "to make sure there is no chargeback" or have other things they do. Many girls are aware of these limitations and will charge you more.

Also note that many clubs will do a large pre-auth and never release it, leaving it sit on your card for the maximum validity period. And some clubs will do this do you multiple times. For example, if you want to buy $500 in funny money, they'll do a $2000 pre-auth, then charge you $600. Then, when you want to buy a room, they'll do another pre-auth for $2000 and charge another $360 (300 + 20%) or whatever. It's easy to wind up with pre-auth's that exceed your limit or trigger fraud hold's. The bartenders will do the same shit, albeit in smaller amounts. They'll do a $50 hold every time you order a drink, then they'll charge your card at the end. Because often the total exceeds each individual pre-auth, they can't use them and again you wind up with a large amount in holds on your card for a week or two.

I concur with the recommendation against using a credit card in the club. If you have to do it, try to limit it to the bar tab and rooms. Paying for dances with a card is gonna lead to giant pill and moderate pain. Not to mention the potential for fraud. Some clubs will take your CC & DL and photocopy both sides, which can't lead to anything good.

Using a credit card in a strip club was an early on expensive lesson for me 14 years ago.

I do have a Charles Schwab card which I will occasionally use at a ATM when I need pesos in Tijuana. They pay the fees and the exchange rate is decent

Early in my clubbing days, I once used a credit card at a SC to pay for a VIP at a relatively higher end club.

The next day my bank started getting charges from Central America. The bank reversed or ate the fraudulent charges. But when speaking with the lady from the bank, I did fess up to the charge from the club.

Obviously the hostess/waitress at the club skimmed my card.

Fortunately, it was a seldom used card. So I had no real headache getting the card replaced with a new number.

Still. I think bar staff are the least trustworthy club staff. Short changing you, overcharging for drinks. Not giving you the right number of ones. And clubs charging for ones
