Last week it was George Wendt. Today, it’s Loretta Swit. Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlian on MAS*H.

Personally, I never found her attractive, though many did.

She had a good run she was 87 years old, fun fact, her and Alan Alda were the only two cast members that were in both the pilot, and the final show.

^^
I kind of wondered about that. A lot of cast changes but I thought she probably was there from start to finish.

One thing that always bothered me about MASH was how much they complained. After watching Band of Brothers (again) on Memorial Day, then watching an episode of MASH where they complained about the pancakes was a bit cringy, or heating them complain they had to watch the same movie two nights in a row. All in all, they had it comparatively good.

To me she was a total fucking hottie. Not in the conventional sense, like Farrah Fawcett or Halle Berry, but more like Gilda Radner. Personality goes a long way.

I agree with Motörhead. Mash, the movie and the show, were set in the 50s Korean War, but had the hippie 60s and 70s sensibility. Complaining, bitching about General McArthur, etc. My father and uncle, both Korean War vets, didn’t like the show or movie and said that show was off.

I read once MASH was an allegory for the Vietnam war, which I agree with. I couldn't stand the laugh track. They had one guy on it that stood out too much with an odd laugh.
.
And no negative vibes to Loretta, but I could not understand how so many considered her beautiful. I like it when unconventional beauty finds success, though; like that recent actress with the prominent teeth.

As far as the pilot and final show? I believe that not only was radar o'reilly in both, but he makes the trifecta by also appearing in the original film version of the show, which was much funnier.

Radar didn't stick around til the end. Gary Burghoff wanted off the show. He was the only actor to be in the movie and TV show, though.

Yes, that is why Klinger became clerk for the last couple of years. Radar was sent home on a hardship discharge because his uncle died, and he needed to run the farm.
