Tijuana — A young woman who worked as a dancer at the Hong Kong nightclub, located in the Zona Norte, was murdered while inside an apartment on Avenida Revolución.

The discovery was reported around 2:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24, inside one of the apartments numbered 373 on the avenue, located between Coahuila Street and Baja California Avenue, just a block and a half from the nightclub where the victim worked.

The young woman, who had been deceased for at least two weeks, was found by one of her friends, who had lent her the apartment to stay in periodically when she traveled from her hometown of Monterrey, Nuevo León, to work at the nightlife center on Avenida Revolución.

In fact, the apartment where she was found dead is just two blocks from the venue, one of the most popular in the border region for attracting a large number of customers from the United States.

The young woman, identified as Gabriela by her friends, was found lying on the apartment bed, and due to the advanced state of decomposition, it was not possible to precisely determine the injuries she sustained or her physical characteristics.

The young man who rented the apartment called 911 when, early this morning, he entered the unit located on the second floor of the building and noticed a strong foul odor.

According to him, the last time he had communicated with Gabriela was two weeks ago, as she had planned to stay at the apartment for a month along with her ex-boyfriend.

Municipal police were the first to arrive at the scene after receiving the report and confirmed the discovery of the deceased woman, subsequently notifying the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

Forensic experts and agents from the FGE took charge of processing the crime scene, collecting various pieces of evidence that could aid the investigation.

Finally, the body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and so it can later be claimed by her family.
