St. Patrick's Day - what are you drinking?
gammanu95Have you ever tried to stick a silver dollar into a stripper's G-string?
MacAllan is hands down my favorite Scotch. However, it is Scottish, and not suitable for the wearin' o' the Green.
I recently discovered Heaven's Door. Their double-barrel bourbon is great straight and even better in an Old Fashioned. But it is Kentucky Bourbon.
I reserve the Jack for the guests I do not particularly like.
A friend of mine recommended Proper No. Twelve. Apparently, Connor McGregor is part owner of this distillery, but it is true Irish Whiskey from Ireland. I haven't uncorked the bottle, yet. I am trying to save it for the 17th, but my curiosity may get the better of me. I will add a comment after I try it, but what other recommendations for true Irish whiskey are out there?

I'm not an Irish whiskey fan. Scotch or Bourbon all the way.
Maybe I'll just order a shamrock shake.

I tried Redbreast 12. Cost twice as much as Jameson and I didn't find it much different or better. If you're on a budget, Paddy's isn't half bad and about $10 less than Jameson. But I'm mostly a bourbon drinker so what do I know?

I usually just drink screwdrivers, Long Island iced tea, pina colada with tequila. I like other girl drinks too. I know I'm missing a lot of other good drinks such as what you guys have posted.

Basil Hayden is my "go to". I also like Guinness & black/tans although Bass Ale is no longer available. When I worked in NYC, my favorite place was The Blarney Stone; the one I went to was a block from The Garden. I'd gorge on corned beef sandwiches and black/tans. Haven't been to NYC since 2008.

@jaybud999 - a good friend likes Redbreast 12 too. I need to try it.

Pints of Mother’s Milk Guinness. For Irish whiskey I prefer Red Breast 15 over 12.

"An Irish car bomb is made with Guinness stout, Baileys Irish cream, and Jameson Irish whiskey. The drink is prepared by dropping a shot glass filled with the whiskey and cream into a glass of stout and consuming it quickly to prevent curdling."
Fuck me. Even the mere thought of chugging a Guiness, much less with Bailey's and Jameson, makes me queasy. It sounds like sludge. The only time I was blackout drunk and perhaps the worst hangover I ever had was at a wedding 21 years ago - I was the groom's usher. I think it was six or seven jaeger bombs? Amazingly, all I ate for breakfast was some leftover berry pancakes my date ordered from room service and I was fine and ready to close out the reception that night.

C’mon Gamma ape, be real.
This lion knows that you want to sound like your taste is sophisticated, but we all know your St. Patrick’s day drink of choice is Everclear+Green Apple cool aid.
However, this rick would like to suggest a new cocktail called the “Green Demented Green Weirdo”
What is the Green Demented Weirdo? You mix some Boone's Farm Blue Hawaiian with Boone’s Farm Fuzzy Navel. This rick has not tried drinkin’ that shit—no Jack after all—but it seems like something you’d like and it’s probably green.
If you really wanna forget you life—and I think you probably do—you can mix in some Everclear. ROAR!!!
