The Trap . . .
Went to The Trap last night. Good crowd. Dance prices increased to $20 for table and $25 for lap. Only saw 1 dance purchased the entire time I was there despite the good crowd. Didn't see a single regular i.e. old time customer, which this club was famous for.Ran into Spice Wicey from 5 years ago at Angels. She looked good, but unfortunately had bolt-ons. She was thrilled to see me (for some strange reason) and I was shocked how well she remember me because I never spent any money on her. We had a fun time talking about old times. She is a regular at the Mint (a suposedly thriving cheap club); I haven't been there in a long time because I don't like the police station across the street.
The quality of girls was poor, imo, but there was a good number----they didn't seem to be making any money at all. Spicey Wicey claimed that she'd been working 5 hours and hadn't sold a single dance and customers sure as hell weren't tipping the stage shows. I like the personalities--of the few dancers I knew. Just amazed this club is still drawing customers or dancers because I'm just not seeing any money being spent and club is, imo, a horrible value no matter how you look at it. The best thing about the club besides being very close to where I live is that customers don't do any clapping anymore. :)
