War At Hand, Political/Economical State of Affairs

From someone more learned than I am, what are your thoughts on the current political/economical state of affairs in terms of the clubbing/adult entertainment industry?

To preface, I’ve just turned 21 last week and auditioned to become an entertainer on my birthday. I aced it (lucky me). I am currently employed within a summer internship and am also an Architecture and Landscape Engineering major at Uni—safe to say I am rather articulate.

I must admit, I am not the most adept in political literacy nor international affairs; that being said, given the silent (and not so silent) recession for the past 14 months, I have taken a keen interest in the ways in which economical recessions impact the adult entertainment industry. There are sources which cite that trends of ‘dead’ strip clubs are a large indicator of recession, asserting that club goers are “saving money or reallocating their spending toward things they see as more essential, likely because they’re preparing for challenging times ahead”; On the other hand, I have since become aware to that of the correlation of heightened societal “promiscuity” you could say to economic downturns, certain sources stating that “studies and anecdotal evidence suggest that in periods of economic hardship, the opposite can sometimes be true.”

It is approaching midnight, and I go in for day shift tomorrow afternoon. There is the lingering fear of job insecurity which undercuts my once great optimism for my new venture. Furthermore, a looming threat of devices which may be used against the industry as a whole seeing as conservative media and agendas steadily gain majority support. I have doubt that as one of the oldest professions in history (women entertaining men that is), that it could truly be “extinguished”.

No need to presume all on here are more 'learned' than you. But many are free with their opinions.

All I know is my main club is slower than most anytime of the last few years. Economy? General future outlook concerns? Don't claim to know.

Good luck on your endeavors.

Strip clubs are a modern American thing.
Prostitution is timeless and universal.

Ahh yes, you've come to the right place for intelligent discourse in the fields of politics and economics.

Good luck with your summer internship as a stripper, cause that's equally realistic.

But congrats, I can't tell which of our resident trolls you are.

I can tell you went to college. You’ve bought into your professor’s woke narrative that conservatives oppose strip clubs. Quite the opposite

Given the discussions right after this topic asked if anyone brought lube to club and the one before that asked about getting a finger up the butt while getting a BJ from a stripper.....I'd say you're on the wrong board, but hey so far the comments are entertaining...

This economy sucks. I'm sure you will make some money. I'm sure you will hear the other girls complain about a dead club and broke ass guys. There are always non spenders in the club, girls just complain more when there are no spenders to balance them out.

Realistically strip clubs are not going to be a target of violence or terrorism. Pro Iran terrorists likely will target military bases or Jewish temples or gatherings. Music festivals remain a juicy target for any sort of mass killer.

It depends at least as much on where you want to live, what your boundaries are, and how much you want to make from it. Versus the national economic situation.
