The tax was authorized by a ballot measure that passed by 83% percent of the vote: https://ballotpedia.org/Georgia_Addition… . So it was only opposed by those with social libertarian beliefs. Social libertarians are divided between the two major parties.
It's a 1% tax. I'm sure some failing club will blame this, but quite frankly if their margins are so think that they need to change business models over this then that club has bigger problems.
Dallas has a number of juice bars that seem to do alright. At the end of the day, it's about the dancers. Easy for a non drinker to say....but some Dallas clubs did figure out how to make it work as "all nude" as opposed to topless.
I rarely drink anything but water in a strip club (and don't go to bars otherwise). But, clubs making booze money seem to let dancers keep much more of the money I spend on them. I'd be happy to get dances in a garden shed from a dancer I liked. So make more sense for my money to go to dancers.
