If you could only listen to 3 albums for the next year anytime you got into your car (no radio available) which 3 albums would you pick? I’ll even let you cheat a little and allow 1 pick to be a greatest hits/boxed set.
led zeppelin-the song remains the same creedence-chronicles cheat pick: ratt-the atlantic years 1984-91. this kind of cheating merits expulsion from most schools. this collection contains 5 albums.
I have 5,000+ music files on my computer. I used to burn Cd's to play in my car but my new 2024 Mustang does not have a CD port...old technology. So now I have USB stick with 1,009 songs on it. What is a radio?
Just 3 albums ? OK, I'll give you the 3 types of albums I'd pick: One would be kick-ass rock & roll, another movie theme songs, and 3rd would be best of John Barry concerts. Something for a wide range of whatever I feel like at the moment.
Miles Davis Kind of Blue Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
and since you didn't limit the box set to a single artist Left of the Dial: Dispatches from the '80s Underground - 80 some songs on 4 cds that covers fairly comprehensively 1980's college radio.
Answering this before I read others' lists so I don't change my mind: The Very Best of the Eagles (33 songs), assuming compilation albums are acceptable Marvin Gaye - What's Going On Queen II
Not a big music guy, mostly listen to sports or sports talk. I don't know albums well enough to list, but my 3 artists would be: Cinderella Billy Joel Beatles
@DeclineToState - Regarding Robert Plant, I was in kindergarten when that album came out. I was heavily influenced musically by my much older sibling. I was never a huge fan of Led Zeppelin but Robert Plant backed by Phil Collins in the 80's was amazing.
@jaybud999 - I really debated putting Vivid on my list, and Operation Mindcrime is a masterpiece as well. Geoff Tate was amazing on that album.
good thread idea shailynn. several of the albums you guys listed i've heard before, but there are also many of them that i've never listened to. this thread gives me a bunch of albums i can check out and get exposed to some tunes i've never heard before :)
I got super lucky last fall. Living Colour played an outdoor concert with probably a max capacity of 2000 people......there were maybe 500 people in the whole space set up for the concert, half of which were milling around at vendors. Vernon was smashing away, and Corey was walking around in the crowd singing for a couple of songs....it was amazing.
