  CJ.... what is your take on Gavin Newsome? Liberal, "progressive", etc. Guess what.... The min wage law he pushed and got passed is EXEMPT from the places he is part owner in. HMMMM... trying to make an unfair advantage? He EXEMPTED a major donors chain of businesses because of the clause "sells bread" (paraphrasing). HMMMM I looked into this post from crsm27 because it just reeked of right wing anti-Newsome distortion. It turns out that is just what it is. The first line is blatantly false because Newsome is not himself an owner of businesses impacted by the new minimum wage law. The hoopla on the major donor connection, a guy who owns several Panera bread stores, appears absurd because this same person owns several other fast food restaurants that clearly are not exempt. Almost certainly, Republicans saw the exemptions in the law, did research to find at least one person who donated to Newsome who benefitted, and then concocted a story that "Newsome did this to help a donor". Another shameless attempted con from the right wing.
