  Are you talking about the actual addition of lube/milk/etc to the mouth to thicken the experience? I have seen it but don't care for it personally. But if you mean just very saliva-heavy head, yes, it appeals a LOT to some, and up to a point, the more viscous the saliva, the better.

  It’s just another example of how the people who write porn make goofy shit up, it gets out there, people see it, and then people start to think that’s what you do in sex.   Porn has normalized various sexual activities in the same way that the Kardashians normalized stupidity: it has always been there, but it's now more on display for the world to see, though it probably increases in frequency because of it. But, I'd argue you probably don't have very good data on what percentage of the population likes to gape, so, how do you really know how prevalent it is? I do feel pretty certain that in the thousands of years of modern human history, countless men and women before the "porn era" have enjoyed many of these things.
  
  In some cultures it's probably frowned upon for a woman to ride a man, or to take it from behind, or anything other than missionary. Certainly anal sex has risen in popularity among hetero couples, but is most definitely the norm among gay males. So the question is, what is "normal" and what is "preposterous"? Well, we all have our likes and dislikes, and as long as parties are consenting adults and enjoy it, have at it. One thing's for sure: if you don't like the porn, change the channel.

  “ how do you really know how prevalent it is? ” that would be tough to get to, but there’s certainly surveys that find an increase in these behaviors and a correlation with porn. There’s no magic there, if you see something you might try it. The other way of knowing is definitely small-sample: the number of cock chokers phlegm jobbers etc that I personally come across has grown over time. Not really a field where you can get to hard numbers for any argument though.
