Have any of you ever heard of tipping the dancer BEFORE she does a LD with you? There's one club in east-central NY state that apparently has a high amount of pressure from the dancers to tip upfront in order to get a "better" LD. The management apparently frowns on this practice but doesn't put a stop to it. One LD can apparently cost $40-50 including tip, which sounds like a rip-off to me.
MG: Clubs like this need to be "outed". This is 1 variation of ripoff scam. The ones that really suck are those that you pay upfront for x ammount of time "in the back", only to have dancer strongly "hint" that if you want more than a lame airdance, you'd better fork over some more $$$$.
Well, the place I was refering to is Nite Moves in Latham, NY. I'd refer you to the SCL site for more info on the apparent ripoffs there, but that site appears to be down again right now. There are some references to it on this site as well. My understanding is that a lot of the girls there expect a 100% tip upfront for a "good" LD...whatever that means...
Tipping in strip clubs has gotten ridiculous... Girls want a tip if they come up to you and YOU don't want a dance... That's not what a tip is! A tip is what you give someone for doing a good job... I don't even calling what I give waitresses anymore a tip... thats my tipping rant
Mr. Guy, All I meant was trust your feelings. I refuse to tip before service. What if the service is shitty? It's not like you can ask for your money back at that point.
At Tycoons in Detroit, dancers and shot girls will snatch the tip right out of your hand while you are counting bills to pay them. As soon as I paid out $70 for 3 $20 dances, the dancer snatched the remaining $10 bill before I could put it back in my wallet. This is getting to be a common practice as manners in clubs decline rapidly.
