Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
Almost daily, there are photos from women on Facebook promoting “Free the Nipple” or “The No Bra Movement”

Not sure what’s driving it - but no complaints from me

Those are likely the same women in the "toss the razor" movement, so be careful what you wish for.

"Not sure what’s driving it"

My personal theory: 2 things. 1. young women will do literally anything to draw attention to their bodies. So, they like this idea intuitively even if it doesn't make sense. 2. Young women who are unencumbered by children and family have unfocused and agile minds that operate as much on feeling and grey nuance as logic and reason, thus they can literally arrive at any position and get very worked up about it. When children enter the picture, they provide a strong focal point, and the kooky stuff gets dropped.

I observe this in general, obvs this doesn't apply to every single last female.

just another reason to show off while at the same time not having to be be accountable for their actions. same goes with the slut walk rallies. all the same shit. not complaining as yes overall the scenery leans towards pleasing to the eyes. maybe make a bunch of business cards of your favorite club and drop them accidentally here and there. who knows as maybe one or two might pick it up and go for an audition.

Going bra-less is just an excuse to show off their piercings. 9 times out of 10, some thot on Instagram will go bra-less just to show off her pierced nipples. And then they wonder why men stare at their tits so much.

This campaign is based on the premise that society and the law should be as gender-neutral and free of "misogynistic double standards" as possible and thus "there is no reason that a woman’s breast ought to be inherently offensive, when a man’s chest isn’t.":

https://www.vogue.com/article/free-the-n…

Additionally, it is claimed that "Breasts are not inherently about sex. Their primary function is to feed babies.":

https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/16/opinions/…

The reaction to a certain Instagram post of Florence Pugh's:

https://media.glamour.com/photos/62cb224…

was cited as an example of overreaction.

CNN also notes that in Germany has had "...  a more relaxed mindset around nudity in general. Freikoerperkultur, (or FKK), which translates to 'free body culture,' is a national movement that dates back to the late 19th century. ... According to Gregor Gysi ... the 'pornographic gaze' of the West has spoiled what was once a treasured pastime."

It's hard not to sympathize with the evenhanded and well-intentioned approach of "free the nipple".  The claims above, however, ignore a basic biological difference: female boobs and tits have several biological functions that men's corresponding body parts lack.  Lactation is only one of them.

Human breast tissue is composed of 90% adipose tissue by volume:

https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.…

This fat is unrelated to lactation and is not present in other primates.  Its presence tends to give human boobs a protruberant, hemispherical shape.  The zoologist Desmond Morris noted many years ago that the shape of human breasts appears to have evolved to mimic the shape of the buttocks, and thus to serve as a means of attracting male attention and arousing male desire from the front, which would be advantageous for primates that stand erect and communicate face to face.

Interestingly, this signaling function does not appear to be restricted entirely to males, or even to humans:

It's likely true that more frequent exposure to boobs and nipples would lead to some degree of desensitization.  To what degree that would be a benefit is debatable.

Legal modesty standards are always questionable. If showing your nipples is banned, how fundamentally different is that from banning showing your hair (on your head) in Iran?
