Count me in the yawn crowd, at least with the info we’ve learned so far. All we learned is that Trump is a liar, which should surprise exactly no one.

He was never under audit and could’ve released them. He pressured the IRS so they didn’t even audit him most of the time he was president. He didn’t make as much money as he said he did. He deducted the hush money payment to Stormy by running it through Cohen as a legal bill. All stuff we knew or could’ve guessed. Some of that stuff like concealing the Stormy payment or pressuring the IRS could be a crime but still, BFD. His haters will still hate him and his supporters will still support him.

Why do people attempt serious conversations with OP, who is the dictionary definition of autism?

For me, I comment on topics or statements and try to not be prejudiced by the past history of the poster. I’m admittedly not always successful, but I’m trying. That said, Agent Orange’s tax returns are current events, no matter who started the thread.

Tax returns should be private. It should be up to voters if they want to vote for candidates who choose not to release their tax returns. If tax returns are evidence in a court case, I think the judge would generally seal them. If Congress subpoenas tax returns, they should be reviewed in private session, and only revealed if there is an impeachment.

Tax returns for President should not be private as someone like Trump who is in it only for his own selfish greedy personal interests and not to represent the people is a conflict of interest. He also lied repeatedly about how rich he is when he obviously is a total failure. He also lied about being audited multiple times.

Every president foe 50 years made their tax returns public. Every president divested himself of his private investments so he wouldn’t have conflicts of interests between his businesses and his civil service. While I like the idea of the voters choosing, you now have an example of someone who broke from convention only to have it come out that he lied about what was in his tax returns, probably committed tax fraud to the country he was elected to serve and had conflicts of interests. Cry me a river.

I personally think Presidents and members of Congress should put their $ in a blind trust.
But voters should enforce that at the polls, it shouldn't be a law. Important to consider the general principle here, people currently in office stripping away the individual rights of future candidates. If people don't wise up, things won't get better. Not going to help in the long run, trying to bar or shame people to get them to not run for office. One of those things, if you do it, it will get done to you.
