I'm not much of a soccer fan and don't really care about either of today's teams, but it was nice to see Messi get his World Cup championship. He is clearly the greatest soccer player of my generation and possibly the greatest of all-time. Not being much of a soccer fan the only other player I know of on his level was Pelè who was before I was born.

I watched the game today just because I appreciate seeing any player that is at the top of their game especially when they are nearing the end of their careers and in the biggest games. It's the same reason I watched Jordan and Kobe both play games at the end of their careers even though I am not an NBA fan.

Messi lived up to his reputation during the entire tournament. He became the only player scored a goal in each Mach from knockout game, to quarter finals, semi finals and finals of 2022. An unique achievement.
