We all saw him in Goodfellas and perhaps Law & Order - but I first became familiar with Sorvino in the 3-part TV mini-series “Chiefs” (1983)
I first read the book and the mini series was well done and if I recall pretty faithfully followed the book.
It’s a great book and a great mini-series. If you can find it somewhere on a streaming service, do yourself a favor and watch it.
Sorvino plays racist Southern Sheriff Skeeter Willis, not his typical Italian guy

We're really losing all the old school New York Italian Americans. Aiello, Sorvino, Sirico, Gandolfini, Liotta, Caan. They don't make those dudes like that anymore man and it all kinda co insides with the fact that New York City just ain't what it used to be it really has changed a lot.

That Goodfellas cast btw, you just couldn't get it any better. Perfect.

Most recently he's been on the first couple seasons of Godfather of Harlem as Frank Costello. I rarely ever watch series type shows, but this one is really good. Forest Whitaker, Vincent D'Onofrio, Chazz Palminteri... worth checking out. It's on Epix.
