In the US when you have a private public collaboration. The private wins out. So they can censor as much as they want.
Also media corporations aren't liberal. They support the interests of the status quo and their sponsors. For example look at the amount of ads for meds on TV. Then look at how news on those channels pushes the vaccine. Or companies that have a stake in the arms industry and how war is pushed.
