Vacationing strapped

My Chicago fav loves visiting Miami. But it makes her nervous to go alone, and the people she's gone with end up making drama. So I told her, why not put your piece in a checked bag, how nervous could you be strapped? Her IL CC is in the works. FL will recognize a CC from another state, won't they? But I'm just wondering if peeps have practical experience with this, does the TSA give you a hard time, how worried do you need to be about baggage handlers with sticky fingers?

^^^ so many types that we even have an ultra liberal and an ultra conservative both buddying up to support Russia. Both too stupid to even realize they are agreeing for all the opposite reasons.

I'm sorry that you have the only computer on Earth that can't access Google. Let's start here:

fdacs.gov

And there's a lot more to unpack here, but I'm hoping that this was posted as a form of humor.

You can declare a gun as checked baggage. It's not a big deal traveling with one

You have to declare it in advance, keep it in a locked hard sided container.

Why in the world would you ask a bunch of degenerates rather than just Googling it?

Why don't you just offer to go with her to keep her safe instead?

I think she'd rather deal with some drama than try and drag a slow old man around Miami.

The comments here are great! Lol!

So, a stripper decides to bring a handgun on an airplane, and asks her customer for advice. The customer asks guys on a strip club website for advice on transporting the weapon. Nothing could go wrong here…

@Cashman clearly you and reading comprehension have never been on the same airplane or in the same galaxy.

She took a guy safety class and practices at a range. All Drew-like.

The irony is that the batshit whackjobs in this thread could be used gun makers in ads to convince strippers why they need to carry concealed.

For a big percentage of TUSCL discussion participants, their review would be "would not survive an encounter with a stripper who was carrying concealed". So, yes, your fear is understandable.

Lol! I doubt anyone follows along with your Chicago fave enough to know she took a gun safety class!

Folks are lucky they could decipher you referring to an Illinois Concealed Carry permit!

Your reading and search engine comprehension also isn't the best.

Per the link I posted above, IL and FL do not have concealed carry reciprocity.

There's nothing to argue here. She can legally bring a gun to Miami. What she does with it there is on her. Not like she'll be in situations bwhere her purse gets checked for weapons

Just about half of the nightclubs in Miami have magnetometers and all of the better known spots do frisk checks, penalty for carrying unauthorized is pretty harsh down here, I’d advise anyone to not test it.

You leave the gun in your car.

Anyways I don't see q need to bring one on vacation at all

She’s on vacation most likely Ubering or riding with someone else, doubt she’ll have a car, but that’s the first time you’ve ever made sense, I too don’t see a need to carry a gun on vacation

No, Florida won't recognize a CCWP from IL. We have reciprocity with most states, but not IL. It's possible to travel with weapons, but there are restrictions and procedures. Gun needs to be in a hard sided, locked case with no ammo. Key/combo must only be with the owner. Must be declared at check-in. Other rules apply by airline and region but those are typical. You really need to research, understand, and follow procedures for having guns in airports. I wouldn't worry about baggage handlers stealing weapons, but TSA is poorly trained and likely to overreact and kill a bitch checking to make sure her gun is still in her checked bag at the carousel. I would also not be the least bit surprised if they didn't put your bag on the carousel and made you pick it up from the little booth. Plan on that taking about ~90 minutes in FLL and twice that in MIA. A handgun will arise suspicion, since most travelers with guns do so for hunting purposes and are rifles.

Like 25 said, no guns in bars here, period. Permit holder or not, drinking or not. If the place is licensed to sell booze its illegal to carry. That obviously includes strip clubs. I'm not sure what kind of vacation it would be if you weren't spending a lot of time in places that sold booze. Also many, but not all strip clubs include pat downs. This is why most 2amers happen in the parking lots and not inside the building.

I'm not sure if this was a joke/troll post, but in all seriousness it's not a good idea for a rookie travel to Miami with a gun. That's advanced gun ownership territory. If she wants something for self defense, hit up the porn store by the airport when she lands and buy a $25 pepper spray and tote it around. Toss it in the trash outside the airport. Just make sure its one of the smaller ones that don't require a permit. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure she can bring those anywhere. They tend to be better for everyone anyway, she's more likely not to hesitate to use it, and if it's a mistake it'll most likely just lead to itching & burning and an apology rather than death and imprisonment.

As I said, I was looking for help from people with experience taking a gun in checked bags on a plane, who know how to avoid potential issues. I assume they'd know what CC stands for.

The small pepper spray that can be a key chain is her best bet. If she thinks she needs a gun to protect herself from who she's going with she has a problem. If uts for when she's there she's either paranoid or plans on doing sketchy shit. A normal person doesn't need to be bringing guns around like that.
