As for cash to take across.....as long as you distribute it between your pockets and your baggage and then use then safe in the hotel room, you can take ANY amount. As I have noted in the past, make a comfortable budget and then double it and take that amount. As I have said, you can always make money but you can't recreate the time spent in HK - don't ever come up short on cash in HK. As for the room, take the best one you can afford. Don't take the cheapest single bed ones.....good luck and enjoy.

So I would feel comfortable crossing the border with up to $9,999 USD so I don’t have to (and you don’t have to either) use the ATM

As long as you are not flashing cash carelessly no one would know how much money you have for them to want to rob you, and as long as you don dress flashy the same applies.

Dress as a lower middle class or upper lower class American and behave like a well raised gentleman and you will be treated as a gentleman.

A: Sex in the jacuzzi, pool or shower is not as safe as in other dry places. In my humble opinion and limited experience foreplay can take place in the jacuzzi, and then move things to dry clean areas to finish. It is up to you, if it is in your bucket list or not.

Since you said it is your first time, remember; nothing is going to be as you expect it, it can be better or not as good, but you are going to enjoy the journey to the Happiest Place on Earth as long as you are open to the possibilities.

Ask for HK US airport pickup by their man, Alberto. For $75 you can skip all the taxis & border lines. And it's safer.

as to the Need for a Jacuzzi I place on a very low priority. The rooms do tend to be the nicer ones but the water is dirty. May not seem like it when you first look at it... but if you use the bath bubbles you will see the scum. to keep your amount of dollar bills to a minimum I suggest Carrie mainly the big bill. Especially in Hong Kong change is always available. you can either utilize the north bar bartender (since they have the most change available) or use a trusted mesero. i usually spend 300 to 400 a day. US dollars are fully usable at the bars in Zona Norte. For the street girls I suggest pesos and be sure to acquaint yourself with the exchange rate. Presently it’s about 20pesp to 1 dollar.

My first time there I got the Jacuzzi room and I'm glad I did. I didn't care about the jacuzzi but the room was bigger than the ones I saw without the jacuzzi and the every girl I brought up seemed to want to take their time in my room. This could be total placebo but on my second trip there it wasn't the same.

The 2x larger jacuzi rooms allow for a lot more different sex positions, mostly standings, there's also a sofa in room, a table/counter (sexable) and more large mirrors :-)

@Papi are there BGs in TJ that are your type? I keep reading that Haitians are coming to the Mexican border and applying for asylum in the US. Are any of them working as BGs or paradas in the mean time?

@funkycold88 mis 2 centavos. As some have said, spread your money around your bag, person, shoes, socks, etc. i even have a “wallet” (in case of 911, i can just give the wallet) with a small amount of $. Have not felt threatened, but better safe than sorry.

Greenbeans is right, figure on $100 per arriba plus extra for drinks and fichas, times the number of arribas you think you'll manage. Don't bring anything smaller than a twenty aside from what you need for the taxi. You'll accumulate smaller bills in your change once you're there, and you can get tipping singles from any of the bartenders at HK, Adelita's and CC.

1 more week before I get to fly to the happiest place on earth lol. Still just soaking up any information I can.

Last pieces of advice; upon entering HK, waive meseros off. Like slow down. Do at least 2 SLOW laps around all the awesomeness. Stay in control of YOUR experience. Pick where you wanna seat, go get the girl YOU want. Be respectful but confident. Chicas & meseros can smell fear & nerves, shit like new car smell.
