Last One Out

Who here has been the last one out of a club at closing?

I have once. I got to the club at around 1am and had to wait on my CF at the time. I literally got the last three dances of the night and at the end, the lights throughout the club went on. You don't realize how shitty a club really looks until you see it under normal lighting. It's also eerily quiet once the music stops. And you realize you've reached another level of PL as you take the walk of shame out.

I haven't been the last one there at a strip club but I've been the first one there numerous times and it's also eerily quiet before the music starts. I worked near a club and was close enough to go there on my lunch hour from noon to one. The club opened at noon. There were normally no girls or customers there right after they opened, just the manager, but I had a favorite regular who was willing to show up a little early and do lap dances with me during my lunch hour. Often the music wasn't on yet and she would go over and turn it on so it would be playing while we were doing the lap dances. It was nice having the lap dance area to ourselves.

Later on she became a bartender at another strip club and the manager would let her take a break from bartending while he filled in for her so she could still do lap dances with me. I never saw her do that with anyone else and asked her why I was the only guy in Indianapolis who got to do lap dances with her. She said it was because I never caused any problems for her.

Well, it's been a few decades. But yeah, I've stayed a few times until the lights came on. Now anything after 11pm is past my bedtime. I much prefer clubs with a good dayshift.

I’ve been likely the last one a few times. Sadly, I was so drunk I don’t remember what happened.

One time I remember was Easter Sunday many years back. I flew home to Newark - for about 24 hours before heading back out on business the next day. In order to save time, I had the car service take me directly to the strip club. I didn’t think about where I would store my luggage!

I arrived somewhere in the evening, and paid the bouncer to put my bags in some sort of jizz mop closet. I began with a few Xanax washed down with a few beers. I made a few strip club mistakes - as I was very interested in two Russians. I thought that I had decent odds since there were two - so if one didn’t offer Frank Sinatra the other would offer at least a Billy Joel. If I got lucky - I might even enjoy Al Sharpton…

Things didn’t progress as I hoped. I finally got one Russian in VIP - but the lights came on and the club was closing! I may have gotten too fucked up mixing Xanax and beer - and then hard booze. I grabbed my luggage and went to the commuter parking across the street to discover my car had been stolen! Those fuckers took my keys too!

After a bit of searching - and taking a piss behind a dumpster - I realized I didn’t drive. I called a cab and got home before passing out.

I became a semi-regular SCer while living in Dallas in the 2000s - back then I only clubbed at night and mostly Fr/Sat eves - most of the Dallas area clubs closed at 2am so I would stay till closing time on a few occassions although with time I purposely started avoiding leaving at closing time and would purposely leave at least 15-minutes b/f closing to avoid a traffic jam in the parking lot or avoid being out in the parking lot at the same time with some seedy people in some dives I hit.
[there were also some BYOB clubs that stayed open later but they were lesser in #s]

After joining TUSCL I started reading of TUSCLers having a good time on dayshift and started exploring dayshift and eventually became mostly a dayshifter bc I preferred the vibe and the mileage - SoFlo has a lot of clubs and not hard to find a fair # with good dayshifts (SoFlo dayshift lasts till 7pm in some clubs and 8pm in others) - with the exception of Pompano most SoFlo clubs close at 5am or later so it's been a while since I closed a club - last time may have been like 5 years ago at a smallish dive that I think closed at 4am (at least on that particular night).

It’s been decades since I closed a club and none of the clubs I’ve ever closed are even still in existence

Several times at a place where I was a regular for many years. They knew me well enough that when they threw everyone out and locked the front door, they'd allow me to stay at the bar and have another beer. It was kind of surreal with all the lights on, music off, and girls getting changed into their street clothes. I'd leave out the back door with the girls and staff. I think they didn't mind having an extra guy around because it was a pretty sketchy area, especially out back in the parking lot. The only guys were the owner who was like 80, a "bouncer" that wasn't much younger, and a van driver who picked up some of the girls.

I have done it before but not often. Most recent was during the height of the pandemic and rideshares were hard to get at any time of day. Luckily, an acquaintance of mine stayed with me and was going to let me sleep on his couch since he didn't want to drive me to the area I was staying in as it was a known DUI trap.

I tried both Uber and Lyft and watched them both go on never-ending search for a ride. I got in my friend's car and headed out with him. When we got a mile away, an Uber driver called and said he was waiting for me (I had forgot to cancel one of the ride searches).

The next time I was in that club, I was telling the bartender about that adventure and she said if that happened that night, she would drive me to my hotel. I didn't push it on that trip and left an hour before closing.

Too many times to count. The first time I remember I had a nice night at the casino and I closed the club down with some friends while singing American Pie and drinking the last drink of the night.

Yeah at first I would hang around for after to hang with a CF go out on the town. That was some regular in lust shit though. I don’t see me doing that again.

About 30 times at the old Inner Room during the golf trip, but never anywhere else.

Rick's Cabaret on Bourbon Street while hosting an out-of-town business group. I've never see the French Quarter so empty (except after Katrina), and it was foggy as fuck at 3AM as well. A very spooky lone walk to my car.

The one time I did was at a bachelor party at the infamous Seattle Rick's during the 1990's. There were some gangbanger / tough type guys that kept hitting on the strippers, but they wouldn't pay for dances. Then, there was my crowd, a bunch of tech worker nerds dressed up for a fancy dinner and an evening out. We were buying lots of dances, and this is where I first figured out that Rick's had mileage. Maybe even the first time I figured out that there WAS mileage. The tension between the tough (and I assume broke) guys and the nerd rich guys was high. As the club closed, we all headed to the parking lot where one tough guy started going up to cars opening the doors and trying to start shit up with the occupants. I locked mine moments before he tried my door, and he passed on to another car. I remember the door handle going "clunk" as he let it go. Then he went on to a car which held the groom's totally lit uncle, and that door was not locked. The last thing I saw was tough guy punching uncle as he sat bewildered in the passenger seat. I split! I now avoid end-of-night situations at strip clubs.

Cashman's story could be the porn parody equivalent of "Dude, Where's My Car?". 😂
