Many years ago at the club in Maine if you wanted to charge your bill they wanted a finger print as many would charge and then say it was not them when it appeared on their bill. for that reason many would not charge their bill
I witnessed the club take a fingerprint and require a signed consent form before allowing a customer to go to Champagne/VIP at Bare Assets in Key West in 2019. Seemed crazy to me. He was pretty drunk though, and was clearly getting duped into it by the dancer. Not sure if they still do it.
It might lower insurance costs. But it also might be used so that they can claim that it is a membership club and not a retail business. If so, all kinds of possibilities open up.
A lot of times before allowing certain transactions ar a bank or having a notary sign a document I have been asked to leave a fingerprint. Hasn’t happened lately though now that I think about it.
I like the idea of fingerprinting better than ID scanning though, since it’s much less likely to be of use to anyone.

And it might be that club staff and owners never have any access to the information. For insurance purposes and only to go to LE if needed.

I wouldn't let any business fingerprint me though.
