Something smells FISHY in New Jersey...
misterorange
Kamala, you're FIRED!
...and it ain't the usual stink coming from the Passaic River. It's coming from the polling locations.
Before some of you fucks start crying "conspiracy theory" keep in mind that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE expected this Gubernatorial election to be as close as it is. Not the media, not the Republicans, and CERTAINLY not the Democrats.
The current spread is anywhere between 1,700 in favor of Ciattarelli (R) to a few thousand favoring Murphy (D), depending on which source you look at. Until the polls closed last night it was practically a foregone conclusion that Murphy would run away with an EASY victory. In other words, nobody saw it coming until the voting was over and the counts started adding up.
Union County (where I live) is a heavily Blue area. As of now, the vote count is 61% Murphy and 38% Ciattarelli. So why in the world, at 11:23 PM last night, would the County Clerk order voting to be stopped with 95% of all votes already counted and submitted? The outstanding 5% represents about 6,300 votes.
That's right, they counted 125,750 votes in just 3 hours and 23 minutes, then stopped short with 6,300 remaining. At the rate they were going (37,167 votes per hour) it would have taken them about 10 minutes to finish up.
By the time Union County stopped counting, it was already being widely reported on national news programs that the election in NJ was shockingly close. So why did they stop? Perhaps it was time for them to go beddy-bye?
A few stats:
NJ overall: 6201 of 6348 precincts have reported results, 147 precincts remain outstanding.
Here are the Counties with the most outstanding precincts:
CAMDEN: 40 precincts outstanding. Of the votes counted and submitted: 61% Dem, 38% Rep
ESSEX: 56 outstanding. Votes counted/submitted: 73% Dem, 26% Rep
MERCER: 10 outstanding. Votes counted/submitted: 63% Dem, 36% Rep
UNION: 18 outstanding. Votes counted/submitted: 61% Dem, 38% Rep
If you're keeping score, 124 out of 147 precincts that haven't submitted results are in OVERWHELMINGLY Democrat Counties.
Here's a few Counties with all precincts complete, and the Rep/Dem % vote tallies:
ATLANTIC: 100%, 56 Rep/44 Dem
CAPE MAY: 100%, 63 Rep/36 Dem
CUMBERLAND: 100%, 56 Rep/44 Dem
GLOUCESTER: 100%, 55 Rep/44 Dem
HUNTERDON: 100%, 59 Rep/40 Dem
MORRIS: 100%, 57 Rep/43 Dem
OCEAN: 100%, 68 Rep/31 Dem
SUSSEX: 100%, 67 Rep/32 Dem
WARREN: 100%, 65 Rep/34 Dem
Is it just a BIG COINCIDENCE? You decide.

the only reasonable theory i can see for this is that these are the most populated areas in new jersey.
there is no reason for vote counting to stop if at the rate they were going would take at most 15 minutes to finish off that task. by doing so the optics look that good. but then again caring about how the optics look has been something that some have been more than willing to overlook in recent years.

Should say County Clerk ordered VOTE COUNTING to be stopped.
Sorry about that.
