Molnupiravir

The Merck company has just announced they developed a new antiviral drug, Molnupiravir, that cuts the risk of hospitalization for Covid by 50% if taken early in the course of the disease. The cost will be $700 for a five day treatment. This is the same company that has been saying for the last year that their antiviral drug Ivermectin doesn't work for Covid. I am sure that the fact that Ivermectin is off patent, only $3 a pill and is a drug Merck can now hardly make any money off of has nothing to do with their decision to push the new more expensive drug they just patented instead of Ivermectin.

The fact that there are new drugs for Covid in the pipeline headed our way is a good sign for the future of strip clubs and the strip club hobby. What has made this disease so frightening for so many people has been that there were no early treatment protocols available. Big Pharma, in combination with government agencies, have herded people in the direction of expensive hospital treatments involving potentially dangerous treatments like ventilators and ineffective drugs with serious side effects like Remdesivir and also pushed vaccines that only work a few months and have to be followed by booster shots with unknown future side effects for the rest of your life.

If we can get a point where we have effective early treatments for this disease then this disease will become something we can live with and life will return to normal. This includes no closing down of strip clubs or mask or social distancing requirements in the clubs. This will require, though, that voters start putting less faith in government officials and government agencies and push for any early treatment options that come along when the government tries to block their adoption.

Except where not.

But that's your right.

My pharmacist buddy predicted this. He said “the medical companies gave away the first round of shots pretty much for free, because they know they’re going to make zillions on booster and preventative shots down the road.”

“In the U.S., healthcare is now strictly a business term.

Healthcare organizes doctors and patients into a system where that relationship can be financially exploited and as much money extracted as often as possible by hospitals, clinics, health insurers, the pharmaceutical industry, and medical device manufacturers.”

If only there were a free vaccine that would prevent people getting the disease in the first place...

Conspiracy theories aren't about data, they're about unwarranted self importance in the grand scheme of life.

Ivermectin data is flimsy. Get the shot. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

For those who think something like Ivermectin or HCQ or any other drug is useless, no one is forcing them to use them. About 20% of all prescriptions filled are for off label uses. Normally this is not a problem but the drugs used for this particular disease have become highly politicized. Doctors have been threatened by government officials with the loss of their licenses for prescribing certain drugs. Politicians have also threatened anyone providing information on the possible effectiveness of these drugs or questioning the safety or efficacy of the officially sanctioned treatments and vaccines. For example, Elizabeth Warren recently sent a letter to Amazon saying they needed to do something about the misinformation in the books they carry on Covid. There is an implied threat behind this sort of thing and this is really only one step away from government censorship of the press. Every dictator in history who suppressed freedom of speech or press did so in the name of stopping the spread of misinformation so we need to worry if American government officials start talking this way.

This all shows a lack of understanding of what science is. Science is not an official dogma enforced by government where anyone who disagrees with that dogma are heretics to be silenced. Science only advances when someone who doesn't agree with current prevalent beliefs is allowed to question those beliefs. Persuasion should not be replaced by force or the threat of force.

What the OP forgets is there needs to be a baseline, something that we all agree on, else your description of science is anarchy, sorry to bust your bubble but there is actually misinformation out there, the type of thinking you are promoting is enabling that misinformation to spread, it harms people that think they are being open minded, the reality is they are just being stupid.

Meds are being rushed for the sake of pharmaceutical industry profits and to further ingrain a false sense of safety to induce consumer spending. This isn't about our health its about private sector profits.

^ Untrue. They are going through full efficacy-based clinical trials.
